Are we all springing foward OK?

March 15th, 2011 - 12:12 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Springing Forward Lovers, or Haters!

I am not a fan of springing forward. I wish we did not have to fall back or spring forward but no one asked me, so be it. As far as the kids go, they LOVE to spring forward! They have no problem adjusting to eating an hour early!

As you can see in this picture they reported to work right on time as well!

IMG_2284

Howl ever, we do have a work place “situation”. See the red throw on the back of the couch?

IMG_2286

Chaps absolutely hates it. He won’t get on the office bed, in their cubicle, if it is on the bed. It is a mini down comforter. Emma loves it. She was “looking” at it and slightly crying for it.

I told Emma to hold on until the Mayor fell asleep and I would take care of the “situation”

IMG_2285

Dog forbid we upset the homeostasis of the work environment!

So, the Mayor was deep into his morning break and I eased employee tensions!

IMG_2289

That is what a good manager does!

More springing forward later….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

Hal updates bassethoundtown from Tokyo

March 13th, 2011 - 1:01 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and keeping up with Hal and his family in Tokyo lovers…….

I was so glad to read a blog posting from Hal today and hear a few more details…..

Here is the translated version. Google does it’s best but I am sure it is not exactly translated…..

Prayer thank you for your all praying for us. Please keep praying for hundreds of people who are still missing …

Hal from Japan

Do you have in you’re safe?

Itadai fact that the blog is not important and I hope I have not yet.

To take this opportunity, and sincere sympathy for those affected by,

Also, I would like to sincerely souls and condolence to those who had dropped their lives.

I hope that the people rescued as soon as possible and still come without relief.

Sometimes there is still a small aftershock, Tokyo, to be alert but not

Much has been settled emotionally.

Earthquake on the day but Hal and I was only, but rather accustomed to frequent earthquakes in Tokyo

[This is not shaking in the middle of normal! ] And I felt the fear first thing.

Fortunately, no little ones to fall despite major tremor, but’ve finished without incident,

Temporary feel to be really scary what will happen?

Then followed a big aftershock, about two days to feel like I spent a seasick.

The difference in the state and indeed always be Hal, and pulling out the waist, full of fear

Would follow someone around me.

Now I completely forgot the other (?) Mode, return to usual Taira Hiroshi world.

I think there are some dogs can get quite stressful having fear.

Please, Please let them be in peace.

I got many messages from friends in the quake Bassett net connection.

Particularly enthusiastic people in it,,,

bassethoundtown

In articles for us to worry about on my blog and Hal, I was surprised.

And know that it is safe to send aid if necessary

Cell phone number to inform me and told me anything at any time.

It seems hard to see the news flow in Japanese, as in the U.S. for 24 hours.

Just met at the net, but will appreciate over the term just

Is full of gratitude to the presence of people and thus I shall really a helping hand.

The light of hope can feel something inside only suffered a catastrophe like this

Japan and overseas who lend a helping hand, thanks to those who accept it

Corresponding to the affected people calmly take a firm reality, and above all

Mutual respect among each other, and that’s his thoughts while helping each other survive.

I have been since the beginning of serious articles Haruburogu,,,

I want to do that.

End of translation…

What a wonderful message. We will be here for you and your family Hal, anytime. You are family to us. We are one big family in bassethoundtown.

The kids needed a drink of water!

March 12th, 2011 - 6:06 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and the kids needing a drink of water lovers….

Well, today was just downright glorious! The sun was shining, the sky was blue, and the leashes were calling us! So we harnessed up and took off!

One of the walks we take is pretty far for the kids and I asked Grandma if she thought we could make it since it was one of our first walks of the season! What the heck. Let’s go for it.

It is fun because at the end of the walk, before we turn around, we stop at a grand old Catholic Church to rest. There are lots of benches and a grotto. I normally go in and get the kids some water from the fountain. Today that area was closed.

As I opened the door it just looked so pretty that I decided to take the kids inside to get a few pictures.

IMG_2250

The place was glowing with a pink hue.

IMG_2253

This is why….

IMG_2255

After I took this picture I turned around and Emma was in that same pink hue…

IMG_2259

Stunning!

So, we did not get our water. The only water I saw was the holy water and that was not an option!

It was time to head home. The winds were picking up as you can tell from this picture of Emma in the grotto!

IMG_2271

Emma’s ears were flapping in the breeze as we took off. As soon as we got home a giant drink was had by all!

Bless their hearts!

More pinkish hues later….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

P.S. A little boy passed us today and said, “They have little legs”. hehehe

Worried about Hal and his family, bassethoundtown residents from Tokyo

March 11th, 2011 - 8:08 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Hal lovers. I have been worried about Hal and his family all day.

IMG_0112

The last Tweet from Hal was 15 hours ago and said,

“ありがとうございます。ずっと揺れてる感じ、こんな強い揺れは初めてです。ハルも私のそばにくっついています.”

“Thank you. I felt shaking, this is the first strong tremor. I also stick by my side Hal.”

I have not heard anything since then. I have been sending tweets and e-mails. I am watching CNN right now.

More waiting to hear from Hal later…Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

I swear to Dog I think Chaps can feel earthquakes!

March 11th, 2011 - 11:11 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and wondering about Chaps and his Earthquake feeling vibes lovers.

OK, Chaps has acted this way before when another earthquake hit. He get restless, moves around a lot, and finally gets up and acts like he is not sure of something.

He sits by the side of the bed and looks like this.

IMG_2619

Chaps never gets out of bed unless it is storming. So, it concerned me slightly.

I looked at the clock and it was 2:47am. The exact time that the earthquake hit Japan, if I calculated correctly. Of course I did not know that then. I thought maybe he felt a storm coming. Even though it was snowing when we went to bed, ya never know. So I got up, grabbed my camera just in case I had to do some :00 dark hundred product reporting on the Thundershirt.

I turned on the TV and WHAMO! An 8.9 earthquake had hit Japan.

japan

Turning on the TV time was was at 2:51am. Just then, a stack of tupperwear tubs that I have had stacked in my basement since Christmas fell over and make a sound that sent Chaps and I both running. Emma, continued her beauty sleepy.

Do you think it is possible that we felt a small tremor all the way in Bassethoundtown, the KY section? It all seemed very non-coensidental to me?!?

Very interesting indeed…

My heart goes out to the people of Japan and anyone affected by this event. It must be horrifyingly scary to go through something like this. I was frightened just by those tubs falling over.

More wondering about the Mayor and his higher powers later……Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
