I have decided to take early retirement!!!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and early retirement lovers! I have been waffling over this for a few years but I have decided to take the early retirement plunge!
Grandma, Chaps, Emma and I will now be living and blogging from Seborga, Italy!
This town has a population of only 364 people!
Get this, Chaps will have a new job! He will now be the Prince of Seborga and be called, “His Tremendousness”! The former self proclaimed Prince passed away in 2009 and his title has never been claimed…..

The Palace is pretty run down but who needs running water or windows?
It’s a real fixer upper! I have no doubt we will make it a Palace fitting for Royalty!

I knew it was a prank. I know our Mayor and First Lady would never leave Basset Hound Town and its residents. Chaps and Emma are committed to making Basset Hound Town the best community in the world!
Cat, you are toooo funny! At first I thought you were really retiring until I read you were moving to Italy. Ha! Hey, I have to say that Chaps is MUCH better looking than the old prince.
And I agree with Maureen. There is much to do in Basset Hound Town and only Chaps can make it happen!
Nope, didn’t fall for it. I remember the last two years April 1st BHT headlines being a little deceptive…

Actually, I would have been more fooled if there hadn’t been a headline about your upcoming “retirement”!
But, I will still call Chaps “His Tremendousness”!

That “palace” I found just cracks me up!
