Why is everything I need/want so expensive?

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and big question lovers…….

OK, the other day I received the Orvis Dog catalog in the mail. I was bowled over by the cover. Orvis held a cover contest and look at the picture that won! It was like….I was the judge!

So, so, so cute! Anyway, I try not to open catalogs because it is a temptation. Especially, a DOG catalog! But I did it anyway and low and behold I found this.

OK, get this, I need a small quilt and I have been looking for one for years. Most of them are too expensive (including this one) but I am loving it! Here is the link to the details (Click Here) but let me cut to the chase for you. This thing is 129 dollars plus shipping. Ideally, I would love to have 2 of them.

Here is howl I use a small quit for the kids. Chaps is laying on a mini quilt that covers their dog bed. It is fantastic because it keeps the bed fairly fresh. I shake the mini quilt every morning and the hairs fly off.

Yes, I am trying to justify the purchase!

I had to crack up that they put the basset in the middle with all of the other dogs on the outside.

Just the way it should be! hehehe

More letting you know what I do later…..Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

P.S. Grandma, what do you think?

It is so darling! I love it! I just ordered 2 of them. YIKES!

Grandma you are so sweet to offer to chip in. You do so much already. You can help me shake the dog hair of them! hehehe

I hope they clean up well.

Really, folks Grandma and I have been looking for a mini quilt for so long. They really save a dog bed which is so much more expensive.

    I am so excited!

    I smell another blog posting!

I think you should buy TWO of them, one for each of the “kiddos”
Your story reminds me of the quilts I made for my Barney and Maggie. I would put them to bed at night and cover them up. When they turned over during the night, they would cry until my husband or myself got up and covered them up again. My how we are slaves to our Basset hound children!!!

Lois – I think there is another Orvis contest going on right now. I think I will enter it after I get the quilts if it still going on. Wouldn’t that be to darlin’? Both kids sitting on their quilts?

Karen – that is so funny that your kids cry until you cover them back up. Emma does the same thing. She rams her head into my side when she is uncovered. Her coat is so thin. hehehe

You know Cat, I have seen small quilts at a lot of craft shows. The are designed with certain flowers, sports, dog breeds and cat breeds. They usually only cost $50, you may want to check some craft fairs out.
