We just received our dandy, fancy mini quilts from Orvis!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and loving our new mini quilts lovers! We are very excited in bassethoundtown about our new purchase! It was a big leap, but leap we did. These quilts are the highest quality and we LOVE them!
Well, well, well…..Grandma and I decided that we could not put these special new quilts on a 10 year old bed so we went off to find the perfect new bed. It is so cool. We found it at Petsmart. This is a picture of Chaps on it. Of course it will never be seen again because it will be covered up! But it matches!
The kids could not wait to try out their new set up!
I decided to put the extra quilt on my mini couch in my office. This is a fold out single bed! I love it!
Then Emma came in to try out the new set up!
She absolutely loves it. A 10 year old bed is way too old and full of dust mites. It was one of the bolster beds that you can’t wash. I always kept it covered but it was time to retire it.
Chaps looks happy as well!
Then Emma crawled in and Grandma covered her up with her lap duvet!
Chaps was confused (as usual) and this is what ensued!
We will find a nice balance soon!
Oh! BREAKING NEWS…..both kids are on the new bed! They look like yin and yang!
More loving dandy, fancy mini quilts later…..Cat, Chaps and Emma
Hi residents….I did not want to do a blog posting on this, just an update. Last night I was able to get Chaps into his kennel during a T-storm. It was a very mild one. Nonetheless, he did really good. I did not have the heart to take a picture of him at 6:00am. But, I was watching him and he was sleeping very nicely. Of course I did not want to disturb him. So, far so good with the kennel! No pill, no thundershirt, no nothing. Tonight more storms are coming in. I will try the kennel again. Emma went over and laid by the kennel door but after he fell asleep she crawled into bed with me. I must have said “Good Boy” about 326 times!
Hmmmm, the kennel may work. Maybe I should put our kennel in the dog room. I’d find both Rugby and Harriet in it! Of course, there have been no storms around here to worry about. I think the BFF may have cracked the code!
#327 – Good Boy Chaps!
And by the way, LOVE the quilts!
Cindy – It was really great but the storms were very slight. The thunder was a low roll. Tonight we will try again. More storms predicted!
BTW – thanks for the compliment on the quilts. The kids are firmly sacked in as I type!
Breaking news…..Verna is on her nest right now. It is pouring rain and I think she is laying her beautiful blue eggs! She looks a bit uncomfortable.
I love Verna!
#328…Good Boy Chaps! I’m so sorry yall keep having so much rain. We haven’t had a drop in months. Just drizzle and cold today! Love the quilts, you will have to send a link so we can shop too. And….so glad Verna made it through the storms, can’t wait to see pictures after all the rain. Love you all!
Audra, the link for the quilts are in a blog a few blogs down. Only about 5 or so.
Verna looks so Royal on her nest. She picked a flower pot to the right. Her and I can now look at each other all day long while we work. She is so special! I think she finally figured out that she has something to look at with me sitting at my desk.
Still beating down rain. Verna is still on her nest. She is such a good Mommy!
Verna knows a good place to raise her young when she sees it. That is sooooo very cool. I’m so glad she’s back this year. That area is probably better than a tree. Or I hope so for her sake! You guys have to get a break soon with this rain. Like Audra said, we haven’t had a drop in months. Send it down here!
Do you cover the crate with a blanket during a bad thunderstorm? I used to throw one over an end table in the corner of the living room for my Maggie. It worked like a charm for her! Just leave the door way to the crate uncovered, so it’s like a cave for him to crawl into. I guess it makes them feel surrounded and safe!
Oh yes, #329, GOOD BOY CHAPS !!!
Karen – Yes, I cover the crate and I have it in a tight corner. He can look right at Emma and I in bed. This morning it rumbled once and he started his psychotic thunder ritual. I checked the weather and saw it was passed already. After he calmed down a little bit I looked at him, (we were still in bed) and said, “why don’t you go get in your cage?” He gave me the funniest look and I just had to crack up. Then, he climbed over me and went and laid in front of his cage!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, guess howl many more times I said “Good Boy”? Another 127!!! So what are we up to now? hehehe
Cat,
I think Chaps and Emma are delighted and impressed with the quilts, they are very particular about the design and decor in Basset Hound Town.
Glad the crate is working and Wow the quilts are beautiful! For an extra treat, the kids can watch a video from the Fon du lac, WI dog show hound group at, Buckeyebassets.com One of my favorite show hounds to watch online, “Noogent”, is strutting his stuff! He looks like he floats on air around the ring!
Those quilts look bassetabulous!
I want that quilt!!!
Thanks guys for all of the compliments on the quilts and the Good Boys for our boy. So far the kids love the quilts and the Mayor has no quirky hang ups about them. That is saying alot!
Verna is watching me right now. We are each others entertainment. She also like looking at the kids come and go. She is so funny because she will tilt her head and look at them with one eye. hehehe
The quilts are beautiful! Good boy Chaps! Glad the crate seems to be working.
Curious how Chaps ended up on the “lap blanket” … I thought the sound of that bothered the Mayor.
OneMom, I was shocked. It was the strangest thing. I think he was just facing his fears! Wouldn’t that be great? I was in the kitchen and I heard scratching and he was scratching and pulling that lap blanket right off of Emma. She never moved a muscle. You should have seen my face. hehehe
The Mayor facing his fears? I’m so proud of him. We love the Mayor …. YES!
[…] I was just doing a bit of shopping for the season over at Orvis, which I love. If you recall, a while back, I purchased the kids some darling dog quilts. […]
