Flapping Basset Hounds!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Flapping Basset Hound Lovers. Please do tell…
Do you have a flapper? It is really the cutest thing in the world! When a hound lays on its back or side and flaps their front paws!
This flappin’ picture was taken about a week ago.
Here we have the Mayor flappin’ away! He loves to flap, but Emma not so much.
I must ask Grandma. Grandma, have you ever seen Emma flap?
So, I ask you dear readers. Do your hounds flap? I am pretty sure flapping is a happy motion.
I did a video showing some of the Mayor’s flapping motion about 4 years ago! This video NEVER gets old!
Do you have a flapper?
More loving too cute for words later….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
No I have never seen Emma Flap, But the Mayor many times . I would love to know what this means, it sure looks like happiness to me.
Thanks The Grandma! We love your comment. Hope we get more!
Cat,
Did you know Chaps is really nervous at the beginning? He keeps yawning to calm down. I think he was trying to figure out what you wanted him to do and why, once again, you had that camera on him.
I love it when bassets do flapping. It does seem to be a really happy response. Maybe to get more attention or get a belly rub.
Mary in TX
No flapping here but it sure was interesting!
LOL! Abbie and Elmo do this when they are feeling “sassy” and playing. Love it!
Thanks for the comments guys. Chaps just loves to flap when he feels good. It is one of my most favorite things…..
Nervous huh? I have heard of nervous yawns. Makes sense. I had not had him too long at that point. I sent the video to his old breeder and she responded to me saying,
“You need to get his nails cut. I would not put this on the internet with his nails in this condition.”
Wow! Wound a little tight? It was pretty much down hill from there.
Maybe Chaps had a premonition about those comments from the scary breeder lady and that is why he was yawning……
hehehehe
Jethro flaps sometimes too. He also rubs at his face and eyes like that sometimes. It’s cute. The mayor is cute too!
And by the way, his nails looked fine to me. The scary breeder lady would report me to animal cruelty if she saw how long Oz’s get. I take mine in about every 4 to 6 weeks and he could probably go every 2 weeks.
Cindy – I take the kids in about once a month as well. I could easily take them every 2 weeks.
Slinky lays on her back and flaps her front and back paws. I call this her yoga stretching.
The flapper…too bad you can’t “flap on, or flap off”…very cute.
