Sugar Maples and Sweet Verna!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Sugar Maple Lovers! I have always loved the Sugar Maple tree. Probably because it has the word Sugar in it. It just seems so sweet! hehehe
So, it seemed very fitting to buy one for my sister for her 20 year wedding anniversary. My Mom and I looked everywhere and interestingly, a sugar maple was really hard to find. But, we endevored and found one. We came up with the idea after seeing Kate Middleton walk down the aisle of the Abby lined with her beloved Maple trees that will be planted at one of the couples homes.
Just so stunning. We loved that idea.
Here I am tagging our tree for my sister….
Now a closer shot…
That is the card and a royal purple ribbon. My nice landscaping guy (Wade) is picking it up for us tomorrow and delivering it to sis.
I thought you might like to read the card…..

Mom and I would love to present this beautiful Sugar Maple tree to both of you, in honor of your 20 year wedding anniversary.
The wood of the Sugar Maple has been notable for hundreds of years in England in the design of harps. Mom and I both recall the wonderful harp music at your wedding.
In medieval times the wood of a Sugar Maple was used to fashion loving cups and the distinctive leaf shape was carved on many English cathedrals of the time.
Kate Middleton selected the mighty Maple to line the Abby for her magical walk to meet her Prince.
We present this royal Maple in honor of your fairy tale union.
May this strong tree take root and grow for many, many decades shading your Family with love.
Mom and Cat
Ahhhhhhhhhhh………..Howl sweet are we? hehehe
Then we got home and saw this!
Someone is looking over her family! There is a giant Maple the next yard over! I see Verna flying over to it as she swoops down to find worms.
Gotta love those Maples!
More Sugar Babies Later….Cat, Chaps and Emma
What a great wedding gift! And the card is even better. You guys are very sweet. I have a red maple tree in my yard that we planted when we built the house in 2003. They grow really fast and it’s already 30 feet tall. Sugar maple is where maple syrup comes from!
Wow! We have babies in Basset Hound Town! How in the world did you get such a good picture without upsetting the parents? I hope they all make it. They are too cute!
Cindy – both the Mom and Dad flew off to get worms! I was at the ready to showcase our new babies! Look howl pink and sweet! I love them!
Awwwwwwww……….
This is such a wonderful idea. I know this tree will be loved and cherished for years to come. I think you should all get together and take a picture every year to see how the tree grows and changes.
I love that idea Maureen……
