Finding just the right geraniums……
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and geranium lovers…..We have the coolest nursery right down the street only a few minutes away. I love this place. I have been going to this nursery for about 50 years. Soooooooooooo much fun! Yesterday we were on the mission to find the perfect geraniums for our yard. Check out the geranium green house! Can you see Grandma back there?
What about this one?
See those pink ones in the front? We bought about 8 of those. They are electric neon in color. Just blinding pink. I love them!
So does the Mayor!
“Mommy……are these things treats? Maybe Candy?….hehehe”!
More loving blinding bright geraniums later…..Cat, Chaps and Emma
very nice!
i planted maters (what a shock right?!) & yesterday buster ate the very 1st little cherry mater i had that was almost ready (again what a shock!) & orange eggplant…that is my odd veggie of the year..each year i get something different…..no clue what they will look or taste like…& i noticed i have flowers on that plant.
also have strawberries which the kids love as well as me, rosemary & pineapple sage which is amazing…
happy planting!
Lois we are going back to the garden center after lunch. We are addicted to flowers and plants! hehehe
I love Geraniums! I always get the bright fire engine red ones and plant some blue lobelia with them, I love that combination. I would of liked to set up camp in that geen house, the smell of all those plants after the long winter is AHHHHH! Did anyone see those new black petunias this year? Kind of weird. First year to grow tomatoes wish me luck!
Debbie – no I have not even heard of the black petunias. I will look today. This is my first year to buy blue lobellia! I am in love. I also love your combination. I am going to try that! Thanks!
Good luck with your maters…..
If you find black petunias let me know. I would love to see them. Ft. Thomas greenhouse is the best in the area. Your geraniums look amazing ! I will be looking for them – nice of you to make the front of your house very nice for the sunbathers across the street to look at !!! Ha Ha!
Judy – it was absolutely horrific last night at the Vernon Lane Private Swim Club. The kids were better behaved then the adults. These men and women were drunk by sunset. The only thing that drove them off was the storm. My prayers were answered as they all lumbered to their giant SUVs, dragging their near empty coolers of beer. These are the rudest group/family of people I have ever seen. Just atrocious.
They are allowed to have beer there? That is unbelievable – the swim club is private but we cannot bring in beer. That looks like a disaster about to happen across the street! Good luck.
Oh, Yes…. and believe you me, they all get in cars and drive with kids after a bender. They would have been there until 1:00am if the storm had not come through. It is just a nightmare for this street. No one could get by with this unless you are the Mayor! Not my Mayor, the mayor of this city who the pool belongs to. What a farce. Be careful if you are driving anywhere near the pool. Look out for the drunks.
LOL – seems to me that some juicy stuff is going on. Maybe we can have the real house wife’s of Vernon Lane Swim Club! I am keeping track. I think I might have a book here! They have no idea…..
What! 1am – are you freeking kidding me? Now I know that there has to be an ordinance about noise etc after 11:00 pm. Call dispatch and one of our fine officers will come. Oh – that reminds me that you have the mayor at the top of your street and the police chief at the bottom of your street. Does this work for or against you? I think it is a no win situation for you. I know I would hate it – bad enough living by the high school.
Oh you hit the nail on the head Judy. Mayor at the top and Chief at the bottom. I am stuck.
My mother always like to plant geraniums because they were colorful and hearty.
I always liked to plant Jackson and Perkins Roses in the yard when I lived with my parents. I always planted a differed color rose every year along the fence. It was quite pretty. The children in the neighborhood would ask if they could pick some roses for their mothers.
