The economy and howl it relates to Emma…..;)

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and crumby economy not lovers…….ugh………

Today we had to go purchase some of Emma’s special dog food.  She has been on this chow since she was a pup.  It is like she is eating gold nuggets for the price we pay.  SIXTY DOLLARS A BAG FOR A 17 lb bag.

In one end, out the other.

It is absolutely crazy but our Emma is highly allergic to protein and corn.  We spent about a grand figuring out what she could eat without getting a UTI and horrible skin infections.

Well, today we find out that her food has yet increased in value.  It was about 52 dollars a bag.  Now it is 60.

Not to worry!  I found a dozen roses at the store for 4 bucks!  YES!  They were withering but I saw hope.  I brought them home and put them in ice and a fridge.  They plumped right up!  Pretty, just like Shimlette!

See Emma looking at the fridge?  She wants a treat!  Our girl is allowed a potato based treat.

She howls at her Mom!

I did get her a treat and I did stop to smell the cheap roses.

Emma has no care for the economy.  She just wants her golden nuggets.  I just like looking at her while I smell the roses..

More loving a healthy Emma later….Cat, Chaps and Emma

What is the name of the brand of food Our Emma can eat?

WOW! $60 a bag, I thought Chef Michaels and Bill Jac were high, that is what I feed Slinky.

Oh, sweet Emma is worth every penny! The roses sure do overshadow the cost though 🙂

Maureen she eats Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Rabbit and Potato blend. It is highly digestible and also has some kind of protein that breaks down in a way that her system can handle. She really loves it as well. I might need to get a second job however….

I have to say that feeding Emma that food is definitely worth it. She looks much better than your roses! And yes, I’m sure Emma is worth every penny!

She is worth the price of the golden nuggets. What does Chaps eat? My guys eat Nutro lamb and rice. No skin allergies on this!

We feed the boys Taste of the Wild (No Grain) kibble. It’s almost $50 for a 30 lb. bag… http://www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com/products/dig_deeper/
It lasts exactly three weeks feeding each houndie 1 cup morning and evening…

Mary – that is exactly what I feed my kids, the amount that is. One cup in the am and one cup in the pm plus some mashed potato gravy over the kibble. They love it!

My little one has horrible skin allergies, too. I have even taken her to a doggy dermatologist in Houston and have spent literally thousands. She now is on a science diet low allergen food that she hates. It is really difficult at feeding time because I feed my bassets their food and she wants that too. I spend about $200 a month on food between the three of them!

    This makes me think!

I have spent more on my Basset than any man I have ever been involved with. This can’t be right!
