Let’s go visit Grandma!

September 2nd, 2011 - 9:09 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Grandma Lovers!  Well I know 2 hounds that are sure one of those!  Yesterday morning, after feeding time at the zoo, I went to work and Emma went to the front door.  She started barking and barking and barking some more!  Emma can actually bark talk and I knew what she was saying.  She was barking, “I’m Hungry”, over and over again, like she screaming for Grandma to come down and feed her.  So, I finally caved in and let her go up and plead her case…..

Not without me you don’t.

And then the chanting aka barking and howling started…..

Mission accomplished and it was back for their morning nap….

We have to make sure Emma does OK on steps because of her back surgery years ago.  Also, we always tell her howl many steps there are by announcing, “step”, “step” and so on.

Gotta love a treat giving Grandma!

More treats, (I am sure) later…..Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

That is just too precious for words! Cat and Grandma, I hate to tell you this but I do believe you have the kids a little spoiled.

Bassets can NEVER EVER be spoiled, because they are perfect in every way; and, you can’t spoil perfection!

    too funny!

heaven forbid here if i use the word “medicine” in a sentence…the whole herd will wake up from a coma & come running..since they know they get their meds 2x a day (ok buster gets sod boswellia, lowla phenobarbital & sally & foster cooper just peanut butter)

everyone moves at the speed of light at the mere sound of the word…for a dab of PB twice a day. sometimes more..if i happen to be speaking a great deal to someone about medical subjects & can’t convince them otherwise…those times we go thru a great deal of PB!

on the + side when it comes time for sally & coop II to actually get meds they will take them like champs since they already think they are getting them..it’s odd but ehy it works!

Maybe they wanted to remind Grandma to vote for Lady Emma! We just put in our votes! Last year it was the Mayor. This year Rugs, and next year it must be our beautiful Emma.

    (Cat, Friday Flyer is up)

If this is a beauty contest Emma will win hands down! My daughter loved Bassets and adopted one from a rescue. The rescue people named him Elvis. My daughter called him several names and settled on the one he would come to. Later if he ever heard the name “Elvis” you could see the light go out of his eyes and his head would hang. So when anyone would ask what his name had been we made sure he couldn’t hear it. Sent some votes Emma’s way in memory of my daughter and her basset.

Yes, Emma would win a beauty contest paws down. I am very proud of her to throw her beauty towards Sr. Hounds Abound. I am pulling for her to win April. The month of her dear birth! Emma is really an inspiration. Thanks everyone for the comments and the votes….
