Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and painting lovers!!!  OMDog we are so one of those.  Karen from New Hampshire did a portrait of both of my kids.  Karen painted both Chaps and Emma and they are pawsome beyond words.

However, I will have some more words to shower upon her!

Here is a close up for your viewing pleasure.  We could not be more proud!

Can you even believe howl stunning these paintings are?

Well, get this.  Karen has offered to do a painting of one of our treasured Hoppers from  House of Puddles!

Marilyn, picked Max for the painting.  Can you even believe how cute he is?  I can’t wait to sell the painting in honor of Karen and give every red cent to House of Puddles!

Message from Karen McDonough:
Hi Cat, I’ve been following your BLOG for years now. At the present, I have no Bassets.  We did have two red and whites.  One named Barney….

Barney McDonough

And the other named Maggie.

Maggie McDonough

They were the loves of our life, and also, my best friends.  We rescued Maggie from NEBHR when Barney was 6.  She was 3, and was his sister from a litter 3 years later!!  We didn’t know it until after we got her home.

THANK YOU for all you do for the beautiful helpless homeless hounds!
Sincerely,
Karen

No, thank you Karen…..I am still deciding where to hang my treasures. THANK YOU DARLING KAREN.  I LOVE MY PAINTINGS OF MY KIDS.  STUNNING!

More updates about hanging the treasures and getting the painting of Max later….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

P.S. Special shout out to Grandma for the set design.  PERFECT!

What beautiful portraits, Karen is very talented, and what better way to share her talent then painting Bassets. Bassets have such mood and depth.

My Mom painted the pictures of Chaps and Emma, and I think she did a wonderful job! Also, Barney and Maggie were amazing bassets and we were lucky to have them as part of our family. They’ve both been gone for many years now and they’re still missed everyday! They were the best “brother and sister” I could ever have asked for! 🙂

Megan – that is so cute about Barney and Maggie being your brother and sister. I used to call my french poodle, Pierre mon frere (my brother). Your Mom did a fantastic job and I will treasure my paintings forever. Thanks for the lovely comment…..
