Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and No. 1 man of the day lovers……

What a cute story…..

BELLAIRE Mich. — Leah Knotts’ wedding day gave her the opportunity — in front of her loved ones — to stand up next to her “No. 1 man.”

Her husband-to-be, Lincoln, was there, too.

Knotts’ 10-year-old basset hound, Shades, served as the couple’s ring bearer. Shades originally belonged to Knotts’ father, a hunter, who used the hound for what he is supposed to do best: track birds and other small animals.

“When I moved out, I brought him with me,” Knotts said. “He’s not a very good hunter.”

But as a ring bearer, Shades performed his duties in a most excellent fashion. He helped the couple get engaged, too.

“Lincoln proposed to me the day before Thanksgiving,” Knotts said. “He knew Shades was my No. 1 man so he tied the engagement ring to Shades’ collar in a mesh bag. That’s why I wanted him to be the ring bearer. He brought me my engagement ring so I wanted him to bring us our wedding rings.”

End of article….

Is that just the cutest thing?

More loving hounds that are loved later….Cat, Chaps and Emma

Shades is a lucky man. I wish all hounds had homes like this.

My goodness! My hubby and I were married in Bellaire! We visit Bellaire every summer, I wonder why I haven’t seen Shades be-bopping around town. The town isn’t that big!
