BASSETHOUNDTOWN WALKING CLUB HAD A WONDERFUL DAY!

October 29th, 2011 - 7:07 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Walking Basset Hound Lovers….I cannot tell you howl much fun we had today so I must show you. This is a picture heavy posting!  ENJOY!

The weather was perfect for hounds, a nice crisp 40ish degrees.  The sun was shining so it made it seem a bit warmer for the humans.

Judy and I hung the bassethoundtown.com banner between 2 trees and it looks so cool!

It was soooo much fun to see all of the hounds arriving at the park.  As every car entered I would look with anticipation to see if I could spot a delicious hound….or 2!

Everyone was gathering right at 11:00 and even before.  I was so excited.  I know Judy was as well.

This is an absolutely pawsome area for a basset hound walk.  From this point you can take a 5 minute stroll down to the dog park.

Penelope is ready to go!

Here is Marsie and Nosey leading way down to the dog park!

I was in charge of Abby for a short period of time when her Daddy Rick went back to the car to get poop bags.

She was not too thrilled with it!  She really wanted her Daddy!

It was so funny, I had a stinkin’ feeling that that the dog park was a bit more packed with anticipation of the hound march! We had posted a sign on the gate about a week ago!   Everyone had so much fun.

Here is Hank!

The hounds had so much fun.  Everyone got along and the other dogs in the park loved this huge pack coming into to play.

This little girl stopped in the mist of a play time for a belly rub.  It was soooooo cute!

Here is Marsie and her Daddy.  I was thrilled to see Marsie’s parents. Marsie has on the mittens she bought from the Slobber Shoppe!  They were beyond pawsome!

This is darling Ruby with her boy and her Mommy. A sweet pug dressed as a puggerfly came over to visit!

Every time I drive past homes in Ft. Thomas that I know have bassets I honk!  I hope they hear me!

This is one of my favorite pictures.  Bumper with Ruby’s boy.  They both had so much fun.

Here is Bumper’s Mom with Abby.  Lookin’ good Judy and Abby!

More friends meet and greet!  Marsie and another Judy!  hehehe.  In the background are some very dear friends of the walking club.  I am so horrible with names.  What is wrong with me?

Then we all headed back to the picnic shelter to enjoy some Oscar Myer Wieners!  Well, the hounds did.  Unfortunately, I was too busy feeding hounds I did not get any pics of this highlight!

Everyone had such a good time!

I did not get a picture of hounds catching wieners but this guy was very popular as he handed out the tasty treats to many hounds!  hehehe

Something else happened and I want to do a special post about that.  I was actually honored at this walk with a document presented from the Mayor of our town.  It was one of those moments that just touch the soul.  I had the lump in the throat and the tears in the eyes.

I am trying to do a YouTube to show all of the residents.  I am so humbled…..

We had a super awesome time today. Bumper and Abby headed to their beds for a much needed nap when we got home. A number of people asked that we have a spring walk as well. It is great to see howl many other people are as crazy about their hounds as I am. It was so cool that today was named Cathy Rudert basset hound town day – no one deserves this honor more than Cat and I am so honored that I was asked to present it to her. Congrats Cat!

How special! Can’t wait for the post on the document presented. You deserve it Cat!

Wow, looks like tons of fun. OH how I wish I could have been there. A spring walk huh? Sounds fun! Some day I’ll get up there but unfortunately it won’t be next year. My job is not letting me off next year.

I’m soooooo jealous that we could not be there!!!!! Wish you all lived closer. But I’m so glad everyone had a good time, and in your honor we went and took our own long walk. Congratulations Cat on your special honor too — no one deserves it more!!!!!

RHandM – No, Chaps and Emma did not go because Chaps is not a very good canine citizen. Even though he is the Mayor, he does not like other dogs. So, actually that give me a great chance to mingle and hang out with all of the other hounds. I had a great time! Yes, you must try and come to one of the walks.
