Protected: More news from the basset hound nationals – Sorry folks, too much spam from too many cowards….I have warned the spammers so we will see what happens. Hug your hounds…Oh, BTW, all of the spammers found their forum to hold hands and sing Kumbaya. Most of them have attacked me for years for speaking out for hounds.

Hal’s Mom, Kazuyo and her friend Mari from Tokyo! YES!

October 6th, 2011 - 7:07 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Hal’s Mom and Friend Lovers!  OMDawg!  I so one of those.  I have had so much fun with my friends.  They are so sweet and nice. I met Hal’s Mom about 7 years ago on YouTube!  Now we are Twitter and Facebook friends as well.  We love each others blogs.  When I met Kazuyo I met my Japanese sister.

Me, Mari, and Kazuyo!

If you don’t read her blog you should!  It is so much fun!

LAZY HAL (ENGLISH VERSION)

More loving Hal for bringing us all together later….Cat, Chaps and Emma

I can hear the fog horns on the river!

October 6th, 2011 - 9:09 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Fog Horn lovers….That sound is so pretty!

We were up at the crack of dawn and the fog was thick!

IMG_4434

The kids are always happy to get up early because they get to eat early!

Here is my little fog horn!  hehehe

Well, we have another day at the Nationals and I can really say I am getting my fill of hounds.  What I find odd is that there are not that many hounds wearing snoods.  Usually, it is a snood fashion show, but not this time.

Yesterday was slow, slow, slow for sales so we can only go up today!  YES!

More reporting from the Nationals later…….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

A genius passes…

October 5th, 2011 - 9:09 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Apple Lovers….We all know this by now…..Steve Jobs, the man who put the world in your hands has left us with the world still in our hands.  Welcome World…

“If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on.” Steve Jobs

I have never known the internet world without Apple. Thank you Mr. Jobs.

More looking forward to the IPhone 4 later, the last Iphone that has his stamp on it….

Another great day at the Nationals!

October 4th, 2011 - 5:05 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Nationals update lovers!  Well, we had another great day.  We started out first thing to the airport to pick up Hal’s Mom Kaz and her friend Mari.  It was so much fun.  I cannot believe I forgot to take a picture.  I was so anxious to transport my precious passengers to the Drawbridge Inn I did not take a picture.  I am such a putz.  I am slapping myself for you.  Don’t worry too much, I will get pictures tomorrow.  These girls are the best and so sweet.  They loved my basset hauling vehicle.  Come on, it is way cool!

So, it was another day of hugging hounds.  First this bright eyed guy.  I was in LOVE!

IMG_4422

He was one good looking boy that I really enjoyed.

Then I enjoyed this pretty pack of hounds!

IMG_4428

I was hoping I would make enough money at the House of Puddles booth to buy this for Marilyn.  It only cost 27 thousand dollars.  Maybe we can find a semi to make the transport to the puddle palace.  hehehe

Do you all remember me blogging about this sculpture?

OMG, OMG, OMG

I would give my eye tooth.  I don’t think Pat Kennedy the sculpture would take my eye tooth but I would give it.  I am so in love with this piece.

Well, now I have something to dream of tonight….

More Nationals News Tomorrow!  Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

PS – don’t forget to vote for Shimlette…..

PPS – We saw a lot of hounds walking away from us today.  My Mom said, “not a single hound has the twist that Emma does”!  Emma sure can shake it!

Lily Pad Serena Francis Vonfirstenburg Child

October 4th, 2011 - 8:08 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Lily Lovers……Well, Lily was the start of the entire bassethoundtown Empire!  hehehe.  Well, it’s an Empire in my mind.  Actually she wasn’t the exact start but she gave me the big shove into the future and the was the reason I wrote the Lily book.  Today was the day I found her 17 years ago.  Just a skinny gal, sick and weak, roaming the ruff streets of Newport, KY.  The section she was in was very harsh.

I blog about this every year and hopefully will for years to come.  Lily changed my life for the better.

Lily’s Story

If you have the 2011 Sr. Hounds Abound Calendar our darling Lily is featured today.  Bless her heart.

100_0603

I miss you every day darling girl.

Lily Rudert

More loving Lily later…..Cat, Chaps and Emma

PS – Don’t forget to vote for the other darling girl, Emma!  Click on her picture in the pink rain coat and vote!  The voting has been extended until October the 8th!  Thanks residents!

Today was the Kentucky Specialty at the Nationals!

October 3rd, 2011 - 7:07 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Kentucky Specialty Lovers….OK, I am not 100% sure what a specialty is but I believe it is when a local club hosts an AKC event to provide show folks with a chance to win more points to become a champion.  Often times state specialties are arranged with shows such as a National event being held in that state.  Any who……The Nationals start tomorrow but the shopping started today!  YES!

Guess what?  The fancy pretty girl snood sold!

IMG_4400

Also we had a bang up day for House of Puddles making close to 200 dollars!  What fun!

We had Anne Lind of Oldefashionpets.com stop by the HOP booth and donate one framed piece and 3 prints.  The framed piece sold within minutes for 50.00 dollars.  I looked for it on line because I forgot to take a picture and I cannot find it.  Dang it!  I will ask her about it when I see her tomorrow.

When I wasn’t selling I was on the floor meeting my main audience…..HOUNDS!

This is Ruby who is Chaps sister from different Moms!  You cannot imagine howl excited I was to meet herz!

IMG_4410

She is such a sweet girl.  She was headed to the ring.  I snapped this picture of her in the ring and I think she was looking at me!  hehehe

IMG_4411

Good Girl!  She looked great!  I loved watching her run away from me and seeing her perfect gait.

Then it was on to the next audience member that needed some belly rubbin’!  He was so cute.  Actually, he is also related to Chaps.  I hate that I can’t remember his name.  It was soooooo darlin’.  I will ask his Mom again tomorrow!

IMG_4415

Here I am looking all serious about the belly rubbing session.  I think I was saying…”OK boy, when they all turn their backs I can load you into my basset hauling vehicle and be off with you!”

IMG_4417

Well, just kidding, the Mayor would have none of that!  Chaps was at home deep in his worry bed.  Poor thing. Also, his Mom would have none of it!  What a wonderful boy!  He looked so much like Chaps.

Here is the view from our booths…..

IMG_4407

Tomorrow is a huge day!  My Mom and I pick up Hal’s Mom and her friend from the airport!

You all know Hal from Japan! (Lazy Hal)

Is that not the coolest thing ever?

More international basset relations later…..Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

I am so tired I can barely lift my fingers to type…

October 2nd, 2011 - 9:09 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Nationals lovers.  OMDawg!  My Mom and I are utterly exhausted after packing up the car and moving everything into the ball room at the Drawbridge Inn. I think we each made about 50 trips back and forth.

IMG_4388

Every square inch of the basset hauling vehicle was jam packed to the gills…..

IMG_4390

Here is our little section of the ballroom and we fill it to the max!

IMG_4393

Tomorrow the shopping and the show begins.  I can’t wait to show off the tables!  I will be showcasing as much as possible tomorrow!

More loving shopping basset hound folks later!  Cat, Chaps and Emma

P.S. Please don’t forget to vote for Emma.  The voting has been extended to October, 8th.  We need to get that girl a month of her very own!  Slurp!

Frost on the pumpkin but not on the Mayor!

October 2nd, 2011 - 11:11 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and frost on the pumpkin lovers….Today is a stunningly beautiful day.  We woke up this morning to frost on the pumpkins and the bluest of bluest skies not to mention Mr. Blue Jay!

Here is the Mayor staying warm in his worry bed!

IMG_4378

Then, I just had to take a picture of the sky.

IMG_4379

Just beautiful and not a cloud to be seen – just that plane.

So, I come back to my office and start to get a few things together for the Basset Hound Nationals and look who shows up.

Mr. Blue Jay.  I have been trying to get a picture of him for days.  He always comes after my squirrel friend hides berries in the flower box.  hehehe

IMG_4385

This berry will not be a winter feast for our squirrel friend!

IMG_4386

More loving my Sunday later….Cat, Chaps and Emma
