Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and saying it again lovers…….

Why can’t I have neighbors like this?

I cannot imagine going out to shovel the snow and seeing this.  I might faint.  Howl much fun would it be?

The Mayor, might not agree with me but I would have to make it work.

Speaking of the Mayor……

This morning the Mayor was not quite right.  I have noticed for the past few days that he was not taking his treats very well.  He would look up at us and slightly open his mouth and barely take the treat in his teeth.  I thought something in his mouth was bothering him so I tried to look in his mouth this morning and he cried out.

Well, we can’t have a hurt mouth.  So, Grandma and I took them both to the vet.  We needed a nail clip so Emma went along for moral support and a trim.

The vet could find nothing in his mouth that looked out of the normal but his ears were a bit red and inflamed. The vet was able to look in his mouth with no trouble.  So, all in all, the Mayor is resting comfortably and we will see what happens at next treat time in the morning.

Here is Emma checking on Chaps in his worry bed before I tucked her in for the night.

More waiting to see howl the treat giving goes in the morning.  Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

9:40pm……BREAKING NEWS UPDATE…THE MAYOR JUST GOT UP AND WANTED A TREAT!  HE TOOK HIS FRENCH FRY VERY GOOD!  I THINK IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN HIS EARS.  BIG SIGH…

Oh my – how scary is it when one of them is not feeling well. Bumper and Abby both recently had ear infections so I know how that bothers them. Hope Chaps is better soon. The bassets in the snow are just too cute!

Oh Chaps. Sometimes, don’t you wish they could talk? Just sometimes. I’m afraid I wouldn’t want to know what comes out of Harriet’s snout.

That’s too weird though. Maybe you scared him when you got concerned and tried to look in his mouth. He probably didn’t know what you were doing. Maybe the rest will do him good.

Poor Chaps. My Emma has issues with her ears quite frequently, too! Oh those bassets are way too cute!!! I want them to be my neighbors too. Actually, i wish Cat, Chaps, Emma and the Grandma were my neighbors.

I never knew french fries had such healing properties. Glad the Mayor is feeling better.

AWWW! Poor Chaps:( I am glad to see that he took his French fry, though! I know all about nasty ear infections–Leo has had a chronic one for years that we can only keep at bay…it just never completely goes away.
