The bad news is, I am sick. The good news is, I have 2 therapy hounds;)
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and bad news good news lovers. Yep, I have the dreaded bad cold just in time for Thanksgiving.
Right about now, the only thing I am thankful for is therapy hounds…
It became clear I was not going to nap on the couch so I moved the pack to the bed.
Emma nestled right in.
Previous to the big move she was snoring on the couch.
Thank goodness I don’t have the family coming to my house in 2 days. I can barely lift a finger much less a turkey.
Nothing is better for the cold chills than two warm hounds.
More coughing, sneezing, and chillin’ later….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
yuck. feel better…november is always the month to get sick it seems..weather changes & such. plus activities seem to change from outdoors to indoors with people…
glad to see you have good nursing help!
hope the holiday is enjoyable anyway…
Thanks Lois. I am resting with the hounds. The only problem is that my nurses miss Grandma. I don’t want her to be around me so they miss her. Better that than her get sick.
She did make me a chicken dinner. It was really good.
Cough….
So sorry to hear that you are under the weather this week. Hope you are feeling better and have a nice Thanksgiving.
tell grandma i am feeling a little under the weather (cough cough) & might feel better if i had a chicken dinner.
Awwww. 🙁 Wish I could pop over with some chicken soup for you. The cure for everything around here is chicken soup and snuggling in with lots of blankets, animals and books.
Hugs from us.
Sorry you are feeling under the weather! Nothing makes you start to feel better than a hound in bed with you! Get better quickly!
Thanks residents for the well wishes. I am not any better this morning but maybe a day of rest will be enough to attend Thanksgiving at my sisters. She is a wonderful cook and it is sooooooooo delicious.
Lois – Grandma said she could have easily made another plate!
OM – Chicken soup sounds soooooo good. Blankets, hounds and my laptop are in order today. I was just watching the today show and Justin Beber is making me feel worse. hehehe
RHandM – Wow, hounds can really hunker down when someone does not feel well. It is like they are on a mission to cuddle with me. I even tried to get up and Chaps threw his body over mine so I could not move. Of course he won!
JGA – A day of rest and thoughts of my sisters dinner will probably do the trick. I wonder if I can go wearing a surgical mask?
Nothing is as warm and cozy and Basset in bed with you. I hope you recover soon.
The thing that bothers me about colds, is everyone says something like “Bad Cold, Huh!” I always want to reply, No this cold is the best cold I ever had!
Sorry to hear you are sick. This certainly seems to be the time of year for colds.
Get well soon and cuddle with your therapy pups!
You are soo lucky to have mom. I hope she doesn’t catch it.
Double up on the probiotics!
Nin – I certainly am lucky to have Mom. She is not allow around me at all and I think today is my turn around. I could probably use one one day of rest but I am going to Thanksgiving. I have been eating the probiotics like crazy and I think they are the reason this cold was short. Have a great day tomorrow and eat a lot of turkey! I am looking forward to some hot browns!
Have fun @ Thanksgiving and tell everyone hello!
Hopefully you will be good to go by tomorrow.
Hugs to all.
Nin – I sure will tell everyone hello. Mom and I will take pictures and send them to you tomorrow. Hugs to all of you as well.
I’m a little late with this thread but I sure hope your feeling much better today. Sounds like you will be.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERYONE!
GOBBLE, GOBBLE!
I hope you are feeling better, and that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
checking in on you Cat to see how you are feeling. I know with Chaps and Emma caring for you, you’ll be feeling better in no time.
Thank you OM for checking on me. I was able to make it to Thanksgiving dinner at my sisters and even felt a bit better today for Black Friday. I pushed on with my Mom to do a few things. I was shocked at howl many people I saw coughing right into the air and still using their hands to cover their mouths. I must say that I am the most courteous cougher in my neck of the woods. I bury my head in my inner elbow away from food and people. I wanted to scream but I knew I would start coughing again. hehehe
Glad you are on the mend Cat. Yep, I’m an inner elbow cougher/sneezer as well … drives me nuts when I see others not doing this.
We love you!
I always pull my shirt up over my mouth and nose when I cough or sneeze.
So glad your feeling better Cat. Black Friday was crazy around here but I stayed home. People were fighting and pushing and shoving. No amount of saving is worth that insanity.
Oh I sure hope you are feeling better!
Stop on by for a visit
