Sandy, Emma, Zoey and Haley check in from the TX region of bassethoundtown!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and residents checking in lovers! Oh I just love when residents send us pictures so we can share with everyone. Howl much fun! Here we have Sandy (the human) with her 3 kids.
“Zoey is on my right (left in the pic)- she is the multicolored basset. Emma is the stocky brown and white beauty. Hayley is my sweetpea weenie-mix.”
Sandy was telling me that this photo shoot was done by a professional photographer named Robyn Arouty.
Sandy also said, “Robyn is an animal advocate. She did a photo shoot and donated 50% of the proceeds to the Basset Buddy Rescue here in Texas.”
Wow, that is really cool. Great picture of your pack.
Check this pack photo out. Nice!
Thank you Sandy, Emma, Zoey, and Haley for sharing and starting our weekend off in style!
More loving our residents later….Cat, Chaps and Emma
Great picture Sandy! How sweet of you to make a donation. Where do you live in Texas? Are you active with Basset Buddies Rescue of Texas? I live a mile down from the Gulf Greyhound Dog Track in LaMarque/Santa Fe area. I usually do the home visits for BBRTX in Galveston County and try to help out with events down south. Anyway just curious.
You can tell that Sandy is well-loved by her dogs, and that her dogs are well-loved by Sandy.
Cindy,
I live in Spring. And I am as active as my schedule allows with Basset Buddies. Both my bassets are rescues from that group. Zoey was one of the first rescues to come out of there. I have done a few home visits as well as placed a puppy from the group to a friend in San Antonio. He loves his new fur-ever home! Thanks for everything you do!
I wanted to add this link. Enjoy!

This reminds me … whatever happened with Trooper?
OM – here is an e-mail I got from Maureen about Trooper…
Trooper was adopted by his foster Mom and family…

“Auntie Maureen –
My Mom just sent you an email. Unfortunately, she does not check her email
very regularly now that she completed her term on the Board of Basset
Buddies rescue – and I don’t know how to turn on the computer yet. Thank
you so much for sending me more goodies that I shared with my 4 brothers
and 1 sister. Yes – I have another brother now who isn’t sick like I was –
but he is deaf, blind, and can’t use his back legs. We enjoyed the treats
so much that we all wanted to finish them at one time. Mom wouldn’t let us
do that though. She said that we had to wait until the next day to have
some more. Wow – they were so delicious! Thank you so much. I love being
spoiled by my Auntie Maureen and Slinky!
I am doing very well. Mom says I am “pleasingly plump” but I say that it
certainly feels good not to have a tummy that hurts all the time from
having no food. Thank goodness that doesn’t happen anymore. I love my
family and I even dance for them from time to time. I “zoom” through the
house to show them how good I feel – and to get them to chase me too.
Sometimes my brothers and sisters join in and wow is that fun! I always
sleep between Mom and Dad so that I can touch both of them as I sleep every
night. I love them so much – and I want to know that they are always there
with me. I am so happy to have a family of my own – and I am so happy to
have wonderful friends like you and Slinky!
Please tell Slinky hello for me – and that I hope that she is feeling
better.
Take care and much love from
Your Trooper”
I feel bad that I did not tell the residents about this.
I need to keep track of the residents better! Thanks for asking OM!
Cat
Thanks for the update Cat. I’m not surprised that Trooper was adopted by his foster family. So good to read how happy and healthy he is. An amazing success story.
Sandy, I thought I recognized your name and I remember Zoey. I joined BBRTX in 2007 a few months after it started. I was on the board for about a year and fostered 10 hounds and adopted out 8. I kept the last 2, Ozzie and Harriet, then stepped back and took a break for a while. I think I remember you at the Hound-o-ween in Fulshear at Patrica and Sig’s house years ago? I had Bucky back then and dressed him up as a Cowboy. Bucky has a great home now. Anyway, it’s a small world isn’t it? Maybe I’ll see you at an event in the near future.
And thanks for all you do too!
Of course I remember you- and Bucky! We were there. Emma was dressed up as a cheerleader and Zoey was a ladybug. My Hayley was a pumpkin. We went to Patricias house this summer for the get-together and what a gorgeous house they have. My dogs all swam in the people pool!!!! I was kinda horrified- I have no control over my kids at all!
We were at Patricia’s too for a get together this past summer. I’m sure it was the same one. Yes, they have a beautiful home. I love walking through it seeing all the amenities that are available out there that I can’t afford. Ha! They are really good people. I’ll look for you the next time I go to an event.
