Lists, lists, and more lists…my life is a list;)
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Life List Lovers….Can you imagine if you kept all of the lists you wrote out? All the line items you have for yourself to do. Wow, that would be some kind of compilation.
Well, a major item on my list, for years, was to have 2 gates installed in the back yard for the kids.
Here is the view from the second floor of our home. That is Wade, Chaps and I looking at one of the gates. Wade is very familiar with my lists. He walks around our home with my lists tucked in his pocket. He loves crossing things off the list.
These gates are needed because the kids love to climb to the highest level and totter to the point of shear panic on my part.
Here they come to check out the gates that Wade installed for them.
Emma goes right to the gate that will block her from climbing. Can you believe she still wants to climb? She really has no fear. And now her Mom and Grandma don’t either!
We never let them up there alone but it was always a battle. Climb, climb, climb…..
Now the Kids can explore the lower level and enjoy the birds, smells and the wonder of spring.
Look, Emma still wants up on that next level. Thank goodness her legs are too short.
Then it was pure magic. Emma laid down in the cool moss and let out a huge sigh. It was so cute and sweet.
The Mayor was having a big, big time. We all sat up on the first level for a nice long while. I closed my eyes. I wanted to feel what Shimlette was feeling. Those birds were so loud. I could smell Spring.
Grandma and Chaps are down by the the other gate now.
One of the cutest things of the day was our very own Mayor. After we all went inside I started looking for Chaps. I found him laying where I normally close the entrance gate. It was if he was saying “Thank You Mommy”.
Wow – one item on one list can really improve a few lives.
Just an open gate is all it takes.
More loving crossing off items on life lists later…Cat, Chaps and Emma
I always wondered what your back yard looked like and still don’t have the whole picture. What I’ve seen is unusual and beautiful. Looks like a one of a kind for sure.
Hey Cindy – My Dad designed our backyard. It was a little pit when we moved in. Grandpa was so talented at landscape design. I am so happy to have all of his outdoor memories. It is just so special.
It looks so nice Cat. I am so glad you got the gates up to keep the kids safe. Now they can explore the lower yard to their hearts content!
I love all the levels and layers of your yard! What a gift your dad created for you. Beautiful.
You have such a beautiful yard, I know Chaps and Emma really enjoy it.
Now you can leave Chaps and Emma out there to enjoy the yard and you don’t have to worry.
This is such a wonderful idea. I know that Chaps and Emma are grateful to have such an amazing Mom and Grandma.
What a lovely day and what a pretty back yard!
Thank you for sharing!
Spring has sprung!!!!!!
