Angel Paws Hopice Care for Animals…
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Hospice for Animals Lovers….
Well..we are sure one of those in bassethoundtown. As promised, I said I would further inform the residents of this wonderful facility that we were so blessed to find. It is called ANGEL PAWS.
I found Angel Paws by googling in home euthanasia for dogs. I wanted Emma’s final day to be peaceful and with the pack she loved right by her side in her own bed.
I also did not want her vet to be the last person she heard so he was out. Even if I wanted him to come to my home it would prove to be too difficult. I actually asked him a few questions about it and crossed it off my list. This might be an option for some folks but it was not what I wanted.
Prior to finding Angel Paws I called a few mobile vets. The coldness was chilling.
Then I found Angel Paws. They seemed too good to be true so being the skeptic I am, I hesitated. Wow, that was a big mistake. This group was the answer to every dream I had for Emma.

Angel Paws is not just an in home euthanasia service. If you look at their website you will quickly see that. This is a true and real Hospice for animals.
Yesterday we picked Emma up and sat in this small beautiful spiritual room at the Angel Paws facility.
They had it all set up for our Emma.
Well, I am glad to get Emma home. I had a special urn picked out that goes with Grandpas but for now I think I will keep her ashes in this beautiful little carved wooden box.
This picture is not where she will sit. She will be next to Grandpa, back in my office. The flowers came from Chaps’ son, Colby Chaps and his family.
I am currently working on a video for Emma. I had to laugh because Emma’s whole life was photographed and videoed. From the day she was born until the day she passed and even now.
More remembering our sweet Emma later…Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma ATB
Dear Cat and loveable Chaps,
Thank you so much for the info on Angel Paws; I wish I had known about this early this Spring but I will definitely keep it in my records. How wonderful the display on sweet Emma and I know this has worked out so well for you, grandma and Chaps and is to be recommended! I will search it out for our area for sure!
Stay well Cat and give Chaps many kisses and belly rubs from us; always thinking of you ALL and you are in my prayers!
Cat,
I understand how much courage and how heart wrenching it was for you and your mother. I hope I never face such an ordeal.
I know, Emma is at the bridge with your father, and he watches her run and play from a comfortable bench on the sidelines.
I am glad Emma is home. The Hospice was a circle of love and strength around you while you were going through this. Our Zeke passed last year in the night and a wonderful place called In Loving Memory here in our area helped by picking him up and treating him with dignity in the morning. They were so gentle and loving. While we cry oceans of tears at thier passing, it does help to have someone who understands. They brought him home a week later accompanied by a beautiful rose in a vase. Bless all the wonderful people who do this work. They are Angels on Earth.
Beautiful tribute Cat…..I am researching hospice in my area right now to see if we have one. R u doing ok? How is Chaps? constantly thinking about you. Colby Chaps has not been feeling well & not wanting to eat. We are running a complete blood work up, hope to have results today. I’ll keep u posted. Love you all!
Wonderful to know such a place and people exist to help during such a difficult time!
Amazing. Simply amazing. I love the way they gave you her paw prints and clippings of her hair. How special. I am so glad you found this place. I know that Grandpa led you to them. I hope you, Chaps and Grandma are doing ok. Keep blogging. Writing about Emma will help you to heal and it helps your followers too. We love you Cat.
Audra, please keep us posted on Colby Chaps. I’m worried about that pretty boy.
My thoughts & prayers are with you & Grandma. I was so sorry to read about Emma going to the Bridge. I can tell you from experience & I know you know this they are always close by us & we carry them in our heart. This is a beautiful thing you did for her. It was 104 here in MI yesterday. This heat wave has been awful. We never see temps like this here. I would love to see temps of 70 degrees. Take care of yourself. Give Chaps lots of belly rubs.
Audra – what do you think it is? Chaps, Grandma and I are worried about our Colby Chaps. Kisses and hugs from bassethoundtown for our boy!
The on call vet called me today & said his bloodwork looked good & to call on Mon. originally my vet was thinking it was ‘cushings disease’ , maybe not so much now. He appears to be fine, just when it’s time to eat he takes one look at his bowl & then leaves the room. Very unusual, since the big boy lives to eat??? The vet said his tonsils looked fine & he didnt see anything wrong with his teeth & gums, cause that was my suspension (I know Chaps had to have his tonsils out). I’ll keep u posted.
Wow Audra that is a real mystery. Howl long has this been going on? That is wonderful news that his blood work came back normal. Could it be the bag of food you are using went rancid in the heat of the summer? That is probably a long shot but worth checking into . Does he take treats? Even though his teeth look fine he could still have a problem. Keep me posted. Love Grandma Cat
