Facebook find of the week! Meet Mr. Delicious Nash…
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and CAN YOU EVEN BELIEVE THIS lovers…
Before Emma left us I was on facebook and ran across this posting from Hound Haven Basset Rescue of Iowa INC
Let me just start by saying that I am not getting another hound. Everyone who knows us knows that our Mayor would never allow it and Grandma and I would NEVER do that to Chaps. Chaps is now going to be the only child for as long as we are blessed with him.
Again, that being said you guys are not going to believe it! A boy Emma is out there in Iowa!
I was thinking as I was sniffing around facebook, “who is posting Emma’s picture in this rescue page?”
It took a sec to sink in.
This guy is a rescue and needs a home. I just kept staring at him thinking….
OMDawg he has to be related to Emma.
The more I looked and the more I wondered the more I thought…this hound has to be related to Emma.
Here is howl I came up with my strong thoughts. Emma’s sister, Diva was from this exact area.
I feel in my heart that Nash is related to Emma.
Diva had many litters. In my opinion, and it is just that, some of the offspring would wind up in rescue. I have no idea if I am right but I am trying to find out.
Nash is in the most fantastic foster home that you could ever imagine right now. I love this girl that he is with. She is a huge, huge supporter of basset hound rescue.

Karin will take care of himz and her rescue will find himz a good home.
More loving Mr. Delicious later…Cat, Chaps and Emma ATB
I have to agree with you that Nash looks just like Emma. Any way to find out if he has papers? I can’t imagine that he was never registered if he is Diva’s pup. If anyone can dig up this info it would be you! Good luck and keep up up to snuff on this one!
i saw him & he is a pretty special hound…i too thought immediately of miss emma…hmm..long lost family?????
give the mayor some smooches for me!
Judy – Even if Nash has papers they could have not been given to rescue. Most rescues would contact the breeder to take the hound back. The owner might not have wanted the hound to go back to the breeder. Diva had a lot of pups. Many of those pups probably had more pups. I will continue to dig. I found a few leads.
Lois – I knew you would love him. What a darlin’. Chaps would hate him. hehehe I just felt that Emma was looking out for him.
I think Chaps would grow to love any Basset, he would be quite a mentor.
This pup has to be related to Our Emma.
Dear Cat, Grandma and sweet loveable Chaps,
WOW, what a find and Yes, if this pup is not of Diva well it is clear that Nash is a BoBac hound! When I saw this my heart just skipped a beat, and this is just heart breaking! Keep us posted as you will get to the bottom of this! Also, the Taylors that bred and incorporated the BoBac line are breeders that are only for SELF. So sad and hope some one out there will get this little fellow.
Wow! Especially the top picture looks very much like Emma. I sure wish the Mayor wasn’t like he is but I can understand. Jethro is the same way. We have to take each day as it comes and deal with Jethro’s issues. It’s a challenge, but we’re making it through.
Keep us updated on what you find!
Gabrielle – I totally agree with you about all of this. I will never keep looking for and reporting on what these breeders did to the basset hound line. It is a down right shame.
Well, today is 11-19-12. I wanted to update this blog posting about Nash. Chances are that he is related to Emma. Nash was a part of the blind basset colony that HHBR was helping to place. I am just so mad at them for not being honest with me. This is a big, ugly sorted mess and Nash had to suffer first for being blind and second for being a part of a much larger lie.
Dr. Kuehn told me that HHBR is involved with the colony and placing some of it’s members. I was lied to over and over again by this basset hound rescue and it is very sad to me. If you want to keep up with my research please follow this link.

Most information is at the end of the comment section but it sure helps to read the entire page and educate yourself to what is going on. I suggest you do not donate to a rescue like Hound Haven Basset Hound Rescue in Iowa. They are crooks and lie right through their teeth.
