Wow, the shut ins are getting out! The heat wave broke today!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and not being shut in lovers…Really! We felt like shut ins. I was afraid to venture out because what if we broke down in the basset hauling vehicle? It would be a disaster. So, today the triple digit heat wave broke and we have temps in the mid 80s. Tomorrow might be a bit cooler.
I tried to get the Mayor out to get a little bit of vitamin D on his bones.
“Are you sure Mommy?”
Well, of course I did not force him out. All in due time. Our Mayor is doing OK…all things considered. I can tell he is depressed and sleeping more. When I move he moves with me like we are attached. He is confused and misses Emma. I know he is sleeping more because he dreams of her. I do too.
We will just take each day as it come.
If all goes as planned we might go out for a drive tomorrow. We all need the stink blown off.
I think the fresh summer air will feel good!
More blowing the stink off later…Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma ATB
Dear Cat, Grandma and Mayor CHAPS,
Thanks for sharing the picture of our Mayor. I am sure he is so confused not to be with Emma and he will stay glued to you for quite some time; you are his security blanket at least for now. What a sweet face he has!!! How is your Mom? And, any word on Colby Chaps? Hope he is doing well! Kisses to Chaps and always thinking of ALL of you!
OMG Cat. That caption on the picture of Chaps is adorable, and so YOU! I love it. It has been very hot here too
Dear Mayor,
If you will meet me at the Drive Thru at Graeter’s in Ft. Thomas, I will buy you an ice cream cone.
Really. I have my own money.
xoxo

Sleep is important. You know how busy a Mayor’s schedule can get.
This is a HUGE transition for everyone. But especially Chaps. He’s just looked so sad after Emma’s passing. Just makes you wonder when the hurt will stop. We’re thinking of you, Chaps and Grandma and hope and pray every day that things get easier.
We love you!
I think of you everyday….getting out tomorrow might be good for all of you. It has been hot here too…..our A/C broke on Sat. I actually had fans all over the house ( 3 on Colby) so they would hit him at every angle. It’s fixed now, amazing what we miss when we don’t have it. everyday our walk gets shorter & shorter. Colby Chaps loves going for his walk but drags home so hot. Maybe some relief this week :). I’ll call vet tomorrow to discuss Colby’s lab work.
You need to spray yourself with the fragrance Eau du Houndie.
What are you putting on Chaps cysts the burst to help heal them?
Chaps looks so good in this picture. I agree that getting out of the house is good for everyone. Whenever you are ready for help with a bath or shower for the stinky Mayor let me know!
I wish I could wrap my arms around all of you …
I hope the break in the heat helps you all feel a little stronger.
Hello Chaps!!! Glad your spirits are brightening up. You look great.
