I gave myself a homework assignment…will you help me?
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Homework assignment lovers…I love writing and was trying to get started on a short story. Just something to do over the weekend since I will be home for most of it.
THEY’RE BACK! The dynamic duo Enzo and Romeo!
So…here is what I was wondering…
Will you give me one sentence in the comment section? It does not have to be about basset hounds or it can be, it is your sentence.
I am not going to post the sentences yet but I will at the end of my short story. I will use every sentence that is given to me in my story.
So…I hope I don’t get writers block!!!
I cannot wait to see the sentences. Again, I will post them after I write the story.
More loving homework later….Cat, Chaps and Emma ATB
PS – The Mayor is handling this visit very well. We are so proud of himz!
it was a dark & stormy night.
(gotta go with the all time snoopy favorite when writing about dogs…pay homage to the master!)
“Rabbit….Rabbit…..in the brush, Im on your trail & I will find you! ”
Well you said any sentence….I guess you can tell what we’re doing right now, Have fun!
Not everything in life is good or fair but we have to make the best of it.
When you look into their eyes you can touch their soul!
OK Cat , after looking at Enzo’s photo, this is what came to mind. He had the kind of face that looked like someone had slammed the door on it; hard. (Awww you know I love him, he is so cute, but that is the sentence. This ought to be quite a story!)
Where’s the beef?
OHMYDOG! The sentences are coming in and I am loving everyone of them. Some are profound, some are funny, some are whimsical and I love everyone of them. Talk about inspiration for writing a short story! This is so much fun. Thank you.
Please, please leave a sentence. I am begging like a basset at the dinner table!
YES!
He looks at me with those big, brown eyes and melts my heart with a wag of his white tail and little whines begging for what I am cooking.
You can look at me and bark and howl and demand some leftovers, but you aren’t getting any!
When all else fails, reboot.
Good morning dear residents…All of my begging is working! More sentences are rolling in. Don’t forget yours!
Are the sentences to be about Enzo and Romeo or the pictures of you and the Bassets above. Which is the photo to inspire us?
The sentence is to be just one sentence from you about anything. You are your own inspiration. The pictures in the blog are just a part of the blog.
here is my sentence:
It was at this moment that she knew what had to be done and a sense of peace came over her like a hug from a grandmother.
how old are enzo & romeo now? i know romeo isn’t that old..he was just a baby not to long ago..but enzo i can’t recall…
Lois – Enzo is 6 going on 60 and Romeo is only 2 years old, still a pup really. He goes absolutely crazy for his grandma and leaps and jumps. It is actually a bit frightening. He is so huge. It is kind of strange to be surrounded by all of these boy dogs. It used to be Emma and I against the boys. We used to laugh and laugh that the girls were better! hehehe
i wonder if chaps will handle it differently without emma around..not having to “protect” her…that might have been the source for all his angst….or maybe not. i know lowla considers herslf the master protector of everyone in the pack (& extended pack) a job she takes very seriously…& everyone else must tread lightly. until you are “family” she watches you very closely.
maybe chaps never relaxed his guard about emma????
Oh, Emma was certainly a trigger for his anger around other dogs. It will be interesting to see howl he reacts in public situations. I can tell immediately if his has his hackles in a twist. Poor boy, that dang cyst thing is acting up again. I will get it removed at the next teeth cleaning but for now, just watching it.
Grandma’s sentence
Don’t step on any cracks.

I can see my sentence I left?? Not understanding why?? We got 6 minutes of much needed rain here now the sun is out. Very hot (92) & humid. Stay cool.
I hate those stupid cysts. Jethro has one that’s starting to get big too. I wait until dentals also and every time he’s gotten a dental one had to come off. This last time I didn’t worry about the current one cuz it was still small and didn’t seem to be growing. Well, lo and behold, it’s only been a month since teeth cleaning and the darn thing has decided to grow. I’m hoping it’ll stall again for the next teeth cleaning, we’ll see. I’ve got it down to a science and know when it’s bothering him. Right now it’s not bothering him.
Sandy – Ollie’s mom – It is just showing on your computer but not on any one else’s. Does it say pending next to it? Just wondering.
Hate to give everyone the blow by blow, but it just blowed! OMDawg! Yuck – Poor Chaps. I know that thing hurt. I have him on another course of antibiotics so it does not get infected. He also has a pretty nasty one on his neck.

I want to see how you incorporate this question/sentence and if anyone can answer it.
When Superman came to Earth he was wrapped in blankets by his mother from the planet Krypton. Superman’s suit was made from these blankets. Nothing could destroy them — not acid, fire, etc.
So the question is: HOW DID HIS EARTH MOTHER SEW THEM?
I’m sure our Mayor will be able to figure this out.
A house is not a home without a dog.
Cat- yes it does say my comment is awaiting moderation. Thanks for explainging that to me. Hope Chaps is not hurting much but those cysts sound painful. How is he doing with the “boys” visiting?? I love the photos.
Oh, no prob Sandy (OM) – I think that dang cyst is hurting him. I have a pain pill I can give him before bed. Himz is doing OK with the boys visiting. I keep him apart from them and Grandma and I do the big switcharoo. All things considered, I am very proud of him.
The dynamic duo Enzo and Romeo on alert, waiting for something to happen!
Poor Chaps – he has had an awful time with those cysts. Will they still have to be removed when they burst? We are soooo fortunate we have not had that experience.
Life is good in Bassethoundtown.

HEy guys
just wondering who Enzo and Romeo are? Are they new additions to your home?
Sandra and Charlie – No, they are my sisters dogs. I was watching them while my sister and her family were on vacation. Thank Dog they went home a few days ago! hehehe
