Well…the stitches did not come out today…
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and stitches out lovers…Well…
We decided not to make the journey to the vet today with our Mayor. He woke up this morning totally and utterly exhausted from his acupuncture treatment on Tuesday. Dr. Leick said that this could happen due to the release of energy and lots of other stuff that I just don’t get.
So, we kept him home and let him relax. Poor thing scared us with his extreme lethargy.
He perked up a little bit when Grandma came down to check on him.
Grandma noticed that his front right area was swollen and she remembered that he yelped a little bit when that needle went in. I called Dr. Leick and he said to put warm compresses with Epsom salts on it to reduce the swelling. Of course this reaction is rare but with the Mayor rare is normal.
Hindsight is 20/20 and maybe his acupuncture treatment was too much for him too soon.
Tomorrow is new day and we will move towards getting him to the vet for his stitch removal.
It was a stressful day but something Grandma and I can handle. Oh, and to top it off…we had a thunder storm. Lovely…
OK – tomorrow is going to be better!
More better tomorrows later…Cat, Chaps and Emma ATB
YOU KNOW THAT SONG IN THE PLAY “ANNIE” THE SUN WILL COME OUT TOMMORROW …. ONE OF MY FAVORITES & OFTEN IN MY HEAD. HOPE TOMMORROW IS A BETTER DAY – IT WILL BE. HUGS TO ALL.
You are right Cat – Chaps has been through more in the past 6 weeks than he has in the past year. The loss of Emma, the surgery, the acupuncture and the thunderstorms have been a lot on the poor guy. Hope all goes well at the vet tomorrow and let him rest and recover with treats and maybe even fries over the weekend. He just needs time!!
Cat,
Do you, your mother and Our Mayor need anything? I would be happy to pick somethings up for you and send them to the Mayor.
Slinky wants to be sure that you and the Mayor know we want to help in any way possible.
Slingly drool and sloppy kisses to Our Mayor.
Good Morning Residents – Well, we are going to get our stitches out today and check out that swollen spot from the Mayor’s acupuncture. The swelling is less so that is a good thing.
So, that is good news! It is beautiful out today and the Mayor can get the stink blown off him a little bit.
We had one thunderstorm about 4:am that bothered him but not too bad. It was so far away, but of course, he heard it.
More later……Love, Cat and Chap
Hope all goes well with the removal of his stitches and yes the Mayor had so much happening to him in such a short period of time. Just give him a lot of TLC and some special food that he loves and I think this will get him out of his lethargy. Give him kisses and bellyrubs from me and we love you ALL! Always in my prayers!
