LIFE IS GOOD IN BASSETHOUNDTOWN!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and life is good lovers…Yesterday we had the old stitches removed from our very own Mayor.
Here he is looking at them laying on the floor. There is a little pile there but you really can’t see them.
Chaps can..
We took the Mayor home to rest up for his big day out today.
This is him at our local park. You would not believe howl much fun we all had. Actually we thought that Chaps would tucker out but the opposite held true. He was like a hound of half his age, pulling, sniffing and rolling.
After we walked triple the length we though he would, we had to FORCE him to rest.
This is the money shot of the day.
After our rest we loaded up the basset hauling vehicle and went off to pick up lunch. Grandma and I decided that the Mayor was doing so good we were going to stay out all day! The weather was great and the smells were many!
Look at this wonderful picnic area we found at our next park which is also in Ft. Thomas. It is called Tower Park and is about 5 minutes from the other park. It is a wonderful place to explore.
We let the Mayor once again lead the way and he took us over to the VA hospital on site. We visited with a few of our Nations heroes.
At the end of the day our big guy was finally ready to go home and have his dinner.
Then his evening nap.
This is what Grandma calls, “looking like a throw rug”. Too funny….
I think the fresh air got to us all. What a great day.

ya know sometimes ya just need a big old walk & some fresh air to just make everything right in the world. obviously that is what the mayor was feeling & thinking!
buster & sally had fun today at a a big fund raising event …the l’oreal “because your dog is worth it” pre registration rescue bingo day. the real event is next saturday but today they let people come & pick up their goody bags & play rescue bingo to win even more prizes…much fun was had by all. & trust me we are all looking like scatter rugs here!
miss lowla held down the home front while we were gone.
What a wonderful blog to read!!!!! Looks like y’all had the perfect day…..I’m sooooo happy, & it’s great to see our big daddy feeling so well !!! How nice that you can enjoy a day out…… It is so hot here, always 100+ that we can barely walk a few yards down the street & back!!! Poor babies love their walk, but just can’t let them get overheated. As soon as we get home I turn the A/C way down & even put fans on them. I love summer, But welcome cooler weather for their sake! The weather is great and looks like it is here to stay for awhile. Maybe more walks are to come soon for Chaps. It is so great to hear that he is out and doing so much better. It made my day!

I’m not surprised that Chaps was sooo active. He’s been saving up his energy for just such a day. I think the world is off when Chaps isn’t out and about.
