Tomato Harvest with the Mayor!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Tomato Harvest Lovers…Yes, I only said tomato. One tomato. Keep in mind that it is August the 15th. The plant we bought this year was billed as the only plant where you would have tomatoes by the 4th of July!
Anyway….
Here it is! It starts in the barrel at the base of the bell and is tied to the top of the bell.

Your temperature there must be the best for tomatoes. It has been so hot here for so long that all the blooms just fall off after the middle of June. I got a few but was disappointed this year. I guess I’ll have to plant earlier next year. I like the close ups of the mayor too! Too funny.
I picked our first and only small puny little tomato on Monday. It is easier just to go to the store and buy them!!

good thing buster & lowla aren’t there..you would have nothing!..buster would have stripped your plants nekkid. green crunchy ones & all. he does that to mine each year ..loves them maters so much he can’t wait until they are red…damn fool! my garden looks like a prison yard..all that’s missing are the snipers & he still gets thru!
lowla is good..she just stands, drools & stares. will not move until you give her one…NOT a green one…so for her you have to have something (carrot, pickle, mater, anything ) to get her away from the plants. sally climbs into the plants & looks at the maters but doesn’t like them..she pulls them off, bites into them & then goes “eeww”…every time. not a smart girl that one.
I love all of these tomato stories. Sure wish we could all get together and make some salsa! I hope everyone has a nice weekend. Wow, they come around fast don’t they? We are planning on taking a few walks. The Mayor just loves that. We think the acupuncture and chiropractic treatments are helping and also the Dasaquin. I have noticed a slight change in his pain. We also bought him some memory foam bath mats for the Basset hauling vehicle. I am going to post pictures of them later. Very comfortable it appears.
