“That Hound is Really Pampered”…;)

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Really Pampered Lovers…Well, we all know who that is.

First off I thought I would update the residents on our fear phobia issues.  To recap, Chaps has had 1.5 acupuncture treatments.  As a previous blog stated he did better in a mild storm event but yesterday we had a big storm event and, well, not very good.  Maybe a 3.24578% improvement.  Not good.  We are looking forward to more acupuncture and have more appointments set up.

But in the mean time we are going to add the following to his phobia treatment.

1.)  Rescue Remedy – we have tried it in the past and it did not work but Dr. Leick said it may help more now as an added extra.

2.)  Lavender oil for a calming effect.  Dr. Leick said we could sprinkle it on him, his Thundershirt, and in his worry bed.

3.) Melatonin – another natural calming aide.  Dr. Leick said he was very OK with trying this on Chaps.

So, I jumped on Amazon and ordered it all today.  I am pretty excited.  I am not going to give up on Chaps and I will keep working until I find some relief for him.  There is no silver bullet.  We just need to keep trying.

BREAKING TWITTER NEWS JUST IN FROM GRANDMA – OH NO!

“Latest model projections show squall line of strong/severe storms approaching #Cincinnati between 11PM-12AM.”

OK, funny in a not so funny way that she would just e-mail this twitter update….

Anyway,

Here is the Mayor this morning as we were leaving for our walk.  I thought I would show you guys the lavender that Grandma and I planted next to his window next to his worry bed.  When we leave we can crack the window and crush a few buds nearest to the window.  As many of you know this is where he lays when we leave.  What a creative idea.

I now pull the Basset Hound Hauling Vehicle to the front so he only has 3 steps to go down.  He is pretty good going up steps, but not down.

I also wanted to capture a regal Chaps next to those beautiful lavender colored Hosta blooms.  They are so pretty.

But then get this…as we walked through the front yard….

Hip Dyspepsia?  What Hip Dyspepsia?

We made our way to another park in our town – Tower Park.

There are Chaps and I under the tree!

As we were helping Chaps up the ramp into the BHV I noticed a truck parked a space over.  No big deal.  I was getting Chaps water and cleaning his eyes with some drops to soothe away any grass particles.  Grandma was cleaning his face, neck and ears with a terry towel to wipe away any dirt.

As the truck was pulling out the man driving rolled down the window and said,

“Wow, he is really pampered, isn’t he?”

Ya think?  If he only knew!

hehehe

More loving observations later….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma ATB

Yes Chaps is one pampered hound but that is ok. All hounds deserve this treatment. I am sitting here on the porch and waiting for the storms – nothing yet!! Hope they are not too bad and you guys can get some sleep!! It is wonderful to get some much needed rain – my plants are so happy – at least the ones that the deer didn’t eat are!! hehe

Judy – I bet you are really enjoying that new porch. You have such a beautiful home. Can’t wait to come over and spoil your kids!

I beg your pardon! Chaps is NOT pampered!!!

Chaps knows how important it is for him to always put his best paw forward. So Our Mayor must always look his best, and it is the job of his constituents/caregivers to help him do so. By the way, what we would have to do if did not assist Our Mayor in his important activities. Our lives would be so humdrum! Chaps makes are lives sparkle like champaign.
