Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Holiday Gift Shopping Lovers….

I was just doing a bit of shopping for the season over at Orvis, which I love.  If you recall, a while back,  I purchased the kids some darling dog quilts.

So, anyway, I was shopping for my brother in law and ran across this cute ring holder.  I think it is outrageously expensive and I am not buying one but the detail is spot on.  You can even see the neck bags.

Here is the link to the Orvis page if you want to look at it.

Can you believe it is 40.00 dollars?  Just outrageous IMO.  But I love it!  LOL…

Just thought I would share….

More sharing later…Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma ATB laying on a stack of quilts….miss you darling girl….

So cute.

More loving the girl hounds later….Cat, Chaps and Emma ATB being the girlie girl she is….

PS – Emma said she needs her anal glands expressed….

The Jolting Continues but Grandma and I are on the JOB!

November 27th, 2012 - 9:09 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and not jolting lovers…As many of the resident already know the Mayor has been having jolting episodes for over a year.  We are basically exhausted researching this topic and we still don’t have an answer.  The good news is we will not give up. We are now convinced that it is multifaceted.

Over the Thanksgiving weekend Grandma honed in on static electricity.

We spent hours cleaning the static out of the Mayor’s environment.

We replaced all of the fleece blankets with quilts.  I wet mopped and took up most of the throw rugs.  They were so full of static I felt like I was lifting a fireworks display.  As you can see I took up his favorite green rug and put down that quit by the couch.

We ended up our de-static mission with a trip to Target.  Two humidifiers were in order.

OK, we are all plugged in….

As you probably noticed, I had to put his favorite green static catching rug back down.  He was not having any of the quilt idea.

So….I keep some bounce sheets, the no perfume kind near by.

I will keep everyone posted.  So far we love the humidifiers and they will help us all this dry, cold winter.

Of course there are other jolting factors such as hip dysplasia and an ear infection that we have been dealing with.

We all just want the Mayor to be comfortable…..

More getting rid of jolting later…Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma ATB making sure she sends good vibes and not static later…..

Low Rider CA Hounds needs a forever family….

November 24th, 2012 - 11:11 am KY Time

Howllo fellow basset hound and low riding lovers….

This guys so so super cute and needs a new home.  He is in CA with Basset Hound Rescue of Southern CA.

I bet this guy could eat some turkey!  What a handsome hound.

The website says…..

    • good with dogs

    • good with kids

    • walks well on leash

All my friends know the Low Rider….. The Low Rider is a little higher

Low Rider drives a little slower….. Low Rider is a real goer!

Hey! That’s me! I’m Low Rider and I’m a 5-year-old male basset hound looking for some new “peeps” to call my own.

Word on the street is that my family moved and didn’t have room for me in the new house. Guess I’m looking for a new place to crash, right?

I’m a cool one. I like to “chill” and lie around soaking up the rays and getting all the attention that I can. I love the ladies! Put me with a fine little canine chick any day! I’ll make her swoon – I’m that charming!

I’m a sweetheart that just wants to share the love! Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention that Low Rider don’t use no gas now and Low Rider don’t drive too fast! See? I’m no trouble at all!

So take a little trip, take a little trip, take a little trip and see

Take a little trip, take a little trip, take a little trip with me!

Take me home! We’ll cruise through life together!

Low Rider is neutered, micro-chipped, and up-to-date on vaccines.

His adoption fee is $250.

Low Rider’s Temporary Foster Says:  Low Rider is an absolute lover, with the softest fur.  He wants nothing more than to be pet all day long and wants to keep us close.  He loves spending time with the kids. He walks great on the leash and loves his walks.

I’m angel-less. Learn more about becoming a California Angel.

Interested in adopting Low Rider?

More loving Mr. LR later….Cat, Chaps and Emma ATB dancing to the beat of WAR….

Did the residents have a great Thanksgiving? The Mayor did!

November 22nd, 2012 - 11:11 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Thanksgiving Lovers….The Mayor and I slept in and enjoyed a very lazy morning.  While I was making his Turkey Breakfast I turned on the Macy’s Day Parade for himz….

I bought the Mayor a rotisserie turkey breast and added some to his kibble with a little Vermont cream butter sauce.  It was a bit rich but hey…we were giving thanks.

Look howl thankful!

The parade marches on…

I decided to buy the Mayor and I a Brita Water Pitcher.  Today was his first bowl full.

We both love the new water and are very thankful to get rid of the chemical taste.

Then I tucked the Mayor in front of the TV for the National dog show.  Of course the basset got cut for the 3rd year in a row.  Didn’t even make it on TV.

We had a great day.  We hope all of the residents did as well.

More loving a relaxing day later…Cat, Chaps and Emma ATB eating her feast with extra gravy….

Wanna see the Mayor in all of his Sunday Glory? Sure ya do!

November 19th, 2012 - 12:12 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Sunday Glory Lovers…

We took a Sunday drive.  The Mayor loves the basset hauling vehicle so much.  He also loves walking in the park as you all know.  It is so cute.  The street that leads back to the park has those speed hump and when we hit the first one he will lift his head and look at me with that special glint in his eye.

He always has the the time of his life.  It is so cute. I had to share.

I know I have thousands of pictures on this blog but everyday the Mayor shows me a new side of his pawsome self.

Look howl he casts such a huge shadow.  My love for his shadow is no secret.  I enjoy them so much…

Each day in bassethoundtown is a new adventure even on the same path.

We just love our Mayor.

This Tuesday he has his next acupuncture treatment.

We must keep the Mayor walking!

More loving Sunday Glory Later…Cat, Chaps and Emma ATB in all of her glory later…

Fall party at House of Puddles – 2012

November 17th, 2012 - 12:12 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Fall Party at the HoP Lovers…Well, this is certainly on my bucket list but I guess the next best thing is looking at picture of all of the HoPper Lovers….

Wow, all of those hounds that did not stand a chance without House of Puddles.  Amazing.

More loving the elders later….Cat, Chaps and Emma ATB with all the HopPers that had a chance to live out their golden years with dignity and grace.

Sometimes it the little things in life….(Like a favorite rug;)

November 16th, 2012 - 10:10 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow basset hound and little thing lovers…

Today, I wanted to wash Chaps favorite rugs.  Chaps has big comfy beds all over the house but he picks plush rugs to lay on.  I have watched him over the last year since he has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia.   He has a way of laying with his hip pressed up upon the couch where I have the rugs for him.

He was not happy about wash day…

Grandma and I worked as hard and fast as we could to get things back to normal.

Thank you Grandma….

Here is the Mayor giving Mommy the stink eye.

“I will forgive but I will never forget!”

All kidding aside, finding out the most comfortable place and position for the Mayor is a blessing.  I spent so much time trying to coax him into the comfortable beds but it was not comfortable for himz.

He does like the big bed for all night sleeping.  It is very firm and I make sure he has a place to press his hip up against….me!

Oh the things we do for the love of a hound….

More loving the little comfortable things in life later (and clean rugs)….Cat, Chaps and Emma ATB who used to be his hip buddy.
