Sunday Morning Mayor…

September 23rd, 2012 - 1:01 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Sunday Morning Mayor Lovers….

Grandma sent me this picture this morning.

photo

The Mayor had just finished his breakfast and the Sun was hitting the disco ball and chandelier just right!

Julian and I were over at his house doing homework and tending to RoRo and Enzo.

It is a totally stunning and gorgeous morning in Cincinnati.

I bet the REDS thought so as well.

“The Reds clinched the National League Central on Saturday with a 6-0 victory against the Los Angeles Dodgers before a sellout crowd of 41,117 at Great American Ball Park. It was only the club’s 15th first-place finish in the long history of the franchise.”

Back in bassethoundtown….The Mayor was not really impressed.

This makes him much more happy! Clinching his victory of love!

Lois Lema, Bassethoundtown resident takes Emma’s picture to Stephen Huneck’s Dog Chapel

September 22nd, 2012 - 11:11 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Emma sharing her beauty at the Dog Chapel Lovers….

Our friend and resident Lois Lema took Emma’s picture with her on a road trip to Vermont.

Lois

Lois travels in her Basset Hauling Vehicle which she calls the “Big Ugly” so Emma was transported in style to:

Stephen Huneck’s Dog Chapel at Dog Mountain.

BigUgly

Emma rested with Sally and Buster on the queen sized mattress in back of the Big Ugly!

Emmawithsallybuster

Emma got to ride past the pretty pink patty barn!  Howl fitting for our girl!

Pink Patty Barn

Emma took a hiking safety lesson with Lois and her pack.

On the trail they stumbled across this beautiful rock sculpture. When Lois sent me the picture I immediately saw Emma in the rock formation behind the sculpture.  I tried to outline what I saw here.

Here it is without my outline….

Now it is time to head to the Dog Chapel….

With much care Lois placed our Emma on the wall of honor and devotion inside of the chapel.  She shines with such glory!

Emmainherplace

What a wonderful and loving tribute to our Emma.  We cannot thank you enough Lois for shepherding our darling and beloved Emma’s picture to such a place of honor and tranquility.

I hope some day to visit this very special place that holds a beautiful spot in my heart.

More Loving Lois and her journeys later….Cat, Chaps and Emma ATB and at the Dog Chapel….

Well, this is a first!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and overnight lovers….

I racked my brain, but I don’t think I have ever spent the night away from Chaps or Emma. I don’t think it would have been too much of a worry if our Emma was still around.  She was soooooo brave. Chaps, not so much!

Smart Hounds

So, it was a worry when I had to spend the night over at my nephews last night.  Of course the Mayor had a huge cushion, his Grandma was with him!  We went over his calming treatments and she gave it all to him before she went to bed. Himz even got warm compresses on his hip areas.

Warmcompress

It was worth a shot to see if she could get a good nights sleep in her own bed.  But low and behold about 5:30am the Mayor started howling and crying.  Himz was confused and scared.

Grandma had to rush downstairs to his aide. She was the port in his little storm.

Maybe a little more lavender?

lavender

Funny thing is, I woke up with a start exactly at 5:30am.  Probably an energy connection.

Grandma sat with him until I got home but first I had to see to my charge!  The times they are a changin’.

Frosted Flakes, Facebook, and oh yeah…Math! The breakfast of champions while multi-tasking!

Anyway, all is back to normal for my champion.

Chaps had another acupuncture treatment today:)

September 18th, 2012 - 8:08 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Chaps updates lovers.  We had another acupuncture treatment today.  I must say we are very pleased with the results that Chaps is achieving.  Of course, most of our readers know that Chaps has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia.

This is picture of himz on the bed when we visited Cumberland Falls, KY a year ago.

areaofpain

Also, getting on a bed is a thing way in the past.

But walks by the falls are definitely in order.

A Pot of Gold Under The Rainbow

September 17th, 2012 - 11:11 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Pot of Gold Lovers….

I was just sniffing the morning basset hound wires and ran across this delightful picture and story from Dallasnews.com!

Chester, a nine year-old basset hound, relaxes in his driveway as a double rainbow appears in the early evening sky in Arlington, Texas on Sunday, September 16, 2012. (David Woo/Staff Photographer)
“I walked outside of my home Sunday night to take my dog, Chester, for his nightly walk in our neighborhood. When I noticed a great rainbow, I told my wife to get her iPhone and take some photos. She realized the iPhone could not get the entire rainbow.

I decided it was time for a real camera with a very wide lens. I was taking photos with my 14mm lens and an airplane flew past the rainbow. The plane was so small you could barely see it. I switched to my 17-35mm lens and waited for another plane.

The rainbow was changing every minute. I knew I would need something in the foreground and then Chester walked by. After a few treats he decided to lie down with me, since he saw me lying in our driveway trying to get a better angle. Everything lined up as Chester appeared to be looking for the pot of gold.

I live in Arlington and I think the rainbow was over the Cowboys stadium. There was no gold for them today.”

End of Article

Nice…gotta love a Sunday night like that!

Wanna see an old picture of Lily, aka – The Paddin’ The Child!

September 17th, 2012 - 10:10 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Lily Lovers – Well, this ought to start off your Monday morning in the right direction!

Lily1995

It’s Lily from 17 years ago!  Wow! We had so many nick names for her.  The Paddin’ was another way to say Lily Pad and The Child is just self explanatory.  I always referred to her as The Child.  She loved it!  hehehe

I bought some support dates for the Senior Hounds Abound Calendar and I was looking for a picture of Lily to send in.  It’s fun looking back at the loves of my life.

Have a great Monday everyone!

More loving looking back later….Cat, Chaps and Emma ATB

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Fall in the Air Lovers…

I took this mini clip last year and never posted it.  I am looking forward to taking more clips.

There is always magic in the fall air!

I love memories.

Unfortunately, I am over my limit on my Iphone.  I have taken so many pictures and videos that I have no more space.  I have been moving them all over to my laptop so I am not going to lose them but I hate deleting stuff like this from my phone.

Dang it!  I should have bought the Iphone with the bigger memory.  What was I thinking?

No biggie.  Live and learn.  I still have all of the pictures I just can’t carry them around with me.

On a side note…here is what happened today!

Grandma babysat the Mayor and fixed him dinner.

photo 2

Hey we all sit down and enjoy our meals.  Now, let’s enjoy the fall!

September 14th, 2012 - 10:10 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Rescue Remedy Lovers.  I was just getting ready to read all about Rescue Remedy and take a picture of the bottle and whamooooo, I dropped it on the floor.

photo

The entire thing was lost.  Of course it scared Chaps.  Heck, it scared me.

photo 1

I was going to put a drop on that half of a cookie cracker and just monitor him.

Now, I will just monitor him without the drop!

Better get on the horn and buy some more….

More Rescue Remedy later…Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma ATB

We received Chaps order today!

September 12th, 2012 - 9:09 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Stress Free Lovers!  You might remember that a few days ago I ordered some additional stress free items for our Mayor.

Well, they came today.

I cannot wait to try them.

1.)  Lavender oil
2.)  Rescue Remedy
3.)  Melatonin

Here is Grandma unpacking the box.

IMG_4219

We have tried the Rescue Remedy before but it did not work.  What we did not try was a combination of things.

Right off the bat we rubbed a little lavender oil on his coat (one drop).  He loved it and you can just imagine we d0 as well!

Delightful!

More trying the rest of it later…Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma ATB

Middle of September – 5 years ago today!

September 10th, 2012 - 11:11 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and 5 years ago lovers.  I really miss posting pictures of our Emma and I looked back 5 years ago today.  Look what I found…

Makes me happy! Sweet breezes of fall coming in around bassethoundtown!

IMG_2054

Just an update on our Chaps.  He misses her as much as we do but he gets confused when we say her name.  So we have taken to calling her Angel in conversations.

We still mention her to him but with the caveat, “Emma all gone”.  We don’t want to totally erase her from our conversations while in front of him.

We are so proud of Chaps.  He is doing great.  We are all doing great!

More loving old pictures later…Cat, Chaps and Emma ATB
