Howl Daisy Lynn wound up in bassethoundtown!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and finding your way to bassethoundtown lovers…
Well, well, well…you just never know when a hound will find you. Little Daisy Lynn did just that with my Mom and I.
As most of us know the basset hound demographic is a small world. Through my extensive network of this demographic I was sent this picture.
Was this my hound, I wondered….
Well, never one to sit around and wonder I called the contact number. It turns out there was a family in need of re-homing darling Chloe.
See that cute little boy? He loved his hound beyond belief but there was a big problem. Little 4 year old Jeremiah was allergic to the new family pup. I felt so sorry for him and of course the entire family.
His sister Kenzie is holding their Chloe after they first got her.
So, the way cool Mom and I talked and talked and talked and decided that I would be the lucky one to adopt young Chloe.
This is Chloe in her bed at their home…who knew a jpeg could steal your heart?
After checking out our town the way cool entire family made a decision to let Grandma and I adopt her.
They were all beyond thrilled that their new young family member was going to be safe, sound, and loved for life. I cannot thank them enough during their difficult decision. Chloe was beyond loved and still is.
Kirstin (WCM) and I made sure the transition went exactly as each child wanted. We moved quickly to insure a transition that was without as much pain as possible.
Goodbyes were said each in their own way…
Kellen the big brother…
A kiss for luck and she’s on her way!
From Denver to KY via Delta! We were 2 hours early of course…
The wait was finally over…
Home sweet home….
The first toy she picked out of the pile….
Was the last toy that Chaps touched.
That meant the world to me….
More loving the little crazy toys and new friends in life later…Cat, Daisy Lynn, (Chaps and Emma ATB) resting after their Delta flight with little Daisy Lynn…
PS – coming up…howl Daisy Lynn got her new name!
OH MY DOG! how stinking cute is she???? I love the story. How wonderful.
(((SIGH)))
I can’t say anything more than I am just bawling my eyes out for happiness!!!!
What a wonderful story. And to even imagine, it’s just the beginning.
I am sad for the family in Denver, but so grateful that the beautiful hound found her way to BHT and your hearts. She’s absolutely precious.
What a touching story and a long trip for such a little girl. Some things are just meant to be and I think some heavenly hounds had something to do with this. It is wonderful that Daisy is here and has a wonderful family again.
and yet another sign of approval. the chain continues…
What a wonderful story!
Daisy, Daisy…we’re half crazy all for the love of you!
xoxo
We are excited to see you have filled this void in your home! What a little cutie and we are excited to watch her grow.
Cat, what a wonderful story. Your heart knows when the furball is the right one and I believe there is guidance from our hounds who have crossed the bridge. Ruby certainly guided us to Tater Tot and Cookie.
I think Daisy already feels comfortable and well loved. This was a “WIN WIN” situation for everyone. I know her original family will be checking in on her to see howl she’s doing.
P.S. She looks more like a Daisy than a Chloe; and, didn’t you have a Chloe or didn’t a Chloe have you awhile back?
OMG that is one of the prettiest bassets I have ever seen. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They must be pretty excite that Daisy will become very famous!
Awesome colors too!
Love the cute story..Hehehehe!!!
Adorable! Where did the family originally get Daisy Lynn?
Hey Suzanne – she is really cute, smart and funny. Everyone keeps asking if she is a rescue and I say “yes, Daisy Lynn rescued me!” She came from a friend of their family I think. I think the breeder has a cattle farm. There was a link on facebook to the breeder at one point. I think it was on a thread that someone named Julie Sarah? started. Someone sent me the thread and it was love at first sight!
Anyway, little Daisy Lynn is really a joy to behold. Grandma and I just adore her!
Oh Cat, I am just thrilled for all of you,Daisy Lynn is a Doll,God saw the hole in your hearts and
helped to fill it with Daisy Lynn. I have tears of happiness in my eyes for you.
I love her story, she sure is lucky to have landed with you, and vice versa obviously. 🙂
Kacy – I am thrilled to meet you and your pack. What a wonderful thing.
Do they have any idea how famous she will be??
Bobby & Mommy – She hopes to go viral! hehehe
