One never knows who you will meet when doing a basset hound home visit;)
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Home Visit Lovers…Today our very own Cindy of the Doyle Hounds went on a home visit for Basset Buddies Basset Rescue of TX. She went to see if the applicant for a new rescue hound would pass the home test. Of course they passed with flying colors and Cindy said it was the perfect home for any basset. Howl could it not be? Look who is also waiting for a new friend….
His name is MAYOR!!!
OK, Howl sweet is this guy? Can you believe howl much he looks like our very own late Mayor?
Well, Cindy could not either so she sent me some pictures of the big sad guy.
He recently lost his bonded mate named Molly who went over the bridge…
Mayor has been so sad and lonely.
Now Mayor will have a friend to live with in his big beautiful home and be his new companion. That extra bed will be filled with love soon.
Thank you Mayor for coming to me today and introducing yourself.
Thank you Cindy for sharing this wonderful hound who so reminds me of my darling and strongly missed Mayor.
2-22-13 is a good day for all of us…
More loving Mayor from TX later…Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB) making dreams come true over and over again…
What a sweet blog! I could not believe my eyes and ears when I saw Mayor then was told his name. He was just a big sweet cuddly guy. I think Harriet fell in love. Hopefully he will get his new sister this weekend.
Good luck Mayor with your new hound sibling and all the adventures to come!
What a wonderful story. Yes, he does look a lot like Chaps! SO very happy he is getting a new friend!!
Aww! Our sweet boy is famous! Thanks so much for featuring him on your blog. He is definitely needing a new sibling to play with and we cannot wait!
I am Mayor and the late Molly girl’s Aunt. I had 2 Bassets until this last Christmas. My darling Smasher who started the Johnson/Basset Hound revolution. Ryan and Caroline were instrumental in allowing me to spend a few more precious months with Smasher before he passed away. They lovingly took care of the arrangments after he passed. They took such good care of me after losing my sweet bassie. I can say without a doubt they are the best of the best when it comes to loving and providing for their animals. If we could just have more people like them the world would be a better place. If I could be an animal I would choose to be a Basset Hound loved by my sweet brother and sister-in-law. Their newly adopted hounds have a life full of parks, running on the beach, massage baths, premium food, an awesome doggie door
And all of the love in the world! I’m so thankful for them and what they do for the Basset Hound community. I’m thankful for all of you making the world a better place…one Basset Hound at a time.
What a wonderful post dear Lindsey. I am so happy to hear from you. Thank you again and again….Cat and Daisy Lynn
Lindsey, It didn’t take me long to realize that Caroline and Ryan were special basset people. I do hope they get their hound soon if they haven’t already. And I thank them and everyone who goes through the process to rescue.
Caroline – will you please keep us posted in bassethoundtown about your new family member and howl Mayor is getting along? I would love to hear all of the details!
I can’t wait to see this pair in action.
