It was a big day for a young pup, thunderstorm included!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Big Day Lovers…Today was Puppy Daisy Lynn’s first time to visit Dr. Leick. If you recall, Dr. Leick is a holistic vet that does chiropractic and acupuncture techniques. Chaps and Emma benefited greatly.
Most of his patients are elderly or injured as you can imagine. I decided to take Mayor Daisy as a young pup so Dr. Leick can feel her and she can get used to his techniques. Puppies can really play hard and I had a huge list of questions.
Daisy Lynn met a very nice boy Bichon named Max in the lobby.
So then we went back to the examination room. Daisy Lynn did really good for a young pup!
Look at us looking at each other…hehehe
Dr. Leick said he felt she had a few tiny alignment issues but she was in great shape over all.
With her extra long back we want to make sure she is watched carefully. Dr. Leick agreed that keeping her off the furniture will only help her in the long run. She has never been on it so she will never miss it when she get old. (OMDawg, I cannot even imagine Daisy Lynn old)…
We took a quick walk in the park and then home to Verna or one of her babies taking a bath!
Then the e-mail alert came! Thunderstorm watch! Would this be our first real storm?
Yes!
Daisy Lynn was not scared just curious!
What a huge and wonderful way to end the day. I know that one storm is not the end all to a phobic hound but by George it is a great start!
I was calling her litter Thunder Heart! A nick name Julian, my nephew gave Chaps about 7 years ago. It just jumped out of my mouth.
See the Thunder bolt and the heart?
I think the late Mayor was with us. I am sure there is no fear over the rainbow bridge.
More loving a curious hound later….Cat, Daisy Lynn, (Chaps and Emma ATB watching over all of us)
I think you are being just a little too paranoid about Daisy Lynn’s reaction to thunder storms. And, righfully so with all you have been through with previous hounds. I think Daisy Lynn will be just fine.
Paws up for Daisy Lynn with her first thunder storm!
You’re so smart Cat, going to Dr. Leick was an excellent idea. Although, I can’t quite see a Basset staying of the furniture.
I think Mayor Daisy loves your beautiful yard.
I still feel so sad when I see pictures of Chaps and Emma. They are soooo missed.
Oh No, not at all Cindy – To watch the hound you love and adore go through the terror of a storm. I actually thought Chaps would die of a heart attack. Passing the thunder storm test is like winning the lottery for me and Daisy Lynn.
Well, I think you won that lottery with Daisy Lynn!!! I’m sooo very happy for you. And Daisy Lynn!
