Daisy Lynn wants to know…did you dance around a May Pole today?

May 1st, 2013 - 10:10 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and May Pole lovers.  Wow!  I love May Day.  I had to find this old photo to share.  Back when we were kids May Day was huge.  We lived across from our elementary school and 3 May Poles were erected.

I am in the middle!  We all danced the May Pole.

MayDay

Everyone dressed up in their best outfits and it was a huge lawn party.

Daisy Lynn had a great day.  She did not dance the May Pole but enjoyed being with her Mom and Grandma.

We just love May!

Not quite a May pole but all the same…Happy May Day!…

More dancing with joy for May later…Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB weaving an intricate rainbow design around a pole as Grandpa watches…)

Cat, you are so precious in that picture. I just love your old pictures. No, didn’t dance around a May pole and we never even celebrated May day at home or school. The only thing we celebrated about May was that it was the last month of school. And my birthday is the 9th!

I hope everyone had as good of a May day as our Mayor Daisy Lynn!

By the way, do I see the makings of some basset wrinkles on that pretty face of Daisy Lynn?

You and I grew up around the same time. Your photos bring back so many memories.

Yes, Cindy she is getting a more classic basset face but she is still very dainty in appearance. She is our longest basset ever!

Rugs was loooooong. I’d love to have been able to compare them. Our groomer used to call him the semi.

Never danced around a Maypole (always wanted to). We did do another May 1st tradition of leaving small baskets of flowers on neighbors doorsteps anonymously … I loved doing that. I even did it in college when I lived in the dorm. 🙂

I remember the May Pole when I was in kindergarden at Woodfill! Forgot all about it until now. Thanks
