Have any of the residents ever been to the Great American MI Waddle?
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Great American Waddle in MI lovers…I have been once. I was bassetless at the time. It was the perfect time to go and be surrounded by my passion, the hounds. Grandma, Grandpa and I drove up from KY. My older sister met us their with her kids. I believe it was in 2004, yes, it was 2004 several months before Grandma and I drove to TX to rescue Chaps and Emma.
Well, the Waddle was this weekend, as many of you know. Did you see a picture of the Queen? Her name is Bailey….What a royal highness…I am in love with Bailey
This was howl she was presented to her adoring subjects!
She laid so proud on her pink pillow while everyone took her picture.
All hail the Queen…wish I could have met you Bailey – it would have been worth the drive indeed!
More loving Queens later…Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB) laying on velvet pillows under a rainbow…
Oh, she is such a regal beauty! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Baily is so very PINK! It agrees with the regal image she projects. Baily looks like she is really indulged and catered to. That’s howl it should be!!!
We went in 2008. We had just started fostering Ozzie and Harriet and we took them back to the boarding facility that they had been staying while we went on the trip. 4 dogs was just too much and I had planned the trip a year before not realizing I’d have 2 fosters. Anyway, Rugby and Jethro went and we had a really good time. They traveled really good. It was a rainy weekend though and they had to have the picnic in the hotel conference room. I’m sure they weren’t able to go back to that hotel the next year. I think a lot of hounds had accidents. Ha!
I love the crown!!!!!
Always regal, but, never a Beagle!!!! 😉 xoxo
Ahh, Queen Bailey! We met her and her mommy and daddy a few years ago at Tristate Basset Hound Rescue’s Christmas party:) She is so baroooootiful!

I have been 2-3 times. Such a blast!!! The last time I went was 2004″ish” My old boy Duncan wasn’t able to make the whole route so we had to take the “pooped pup wagon”. That was the last time we went. Belle wasn’t a social kind of dog and Bailey was overly social so I wasn’t comfortable letting them participate. I plan on volunteering in a few years. After letting Belle go to the Rainbow Bridge in Nov. it is still too soon to go and be around all those hounds without crying.
I was there last weekend and saw it all. bailey was taking it all in stride as a Queen should do. I went in 2011 as well and probably will go next year too. It was so much fun and the weather was just about right the whole weekend!
We went to our first Waddle in 2013. That is how we spent our anniversary. We have no ”houndies” but have always wanted to see them in their parade and join in the fun. Loved seeing the Queen in person…plan on attending again this year.
