Bassethoundtown under heat dome…

July 19th, 2013 - 7:07 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and heat dome haters…Yes, bassethoundtown is in the dreaded heat dome that oddly started on the east coast and headed west.  Today was hot, hot, hot and the Mayor got bored because I would not let her in the back yard after 9am.  So she tried to find her own fun…

Daisy Lynn, you cannot climb on the couches!

“Why can’t I lay in the sun Mommy?”

Daisybored1

“I want to smell the birds Mommy…”

Daisybored3

Well, the only sun you will be laying under is Mr. Sol Grande hanging on the wall, AC on.

Now, off the couch!

More loving AC later…Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB always cool!)

It has been hot here for a week. Today it was 95 with heat index of 99. The humidity is horrible. Ollie hates it too! All of this is suppose to push out of our area tonight when the cold front goes thru & some storms. I can’t wait to give the a/c a break & get outside. Stay cool! Maybe Daisy would like to play inside with her cousins?

Pooooooor Baby Daisy Lynn. Mommy won’t let you have any fun! Keep trying sweetie, she can’t have her eyes on you 24/7!!! Ha, ha, ha!!!!
It’s been between 94 and 100 degrees for 7 days now, and the dew point has been between 64 and even 76% once!!! That makes it feel like you’re breathing in hot water! Not very pleasant when you have asthma! It’s supposed to change later this afternoon though with the cold front coming in from Canada. Thank goodness for our neighbors to the north!!!

Yes, indeed Karen! OH CANADA! We have decided to stay in another day just to play it safe. I am having fun taking pictures of Daisy Lynn trying on some stuff for the BHT boutique! She is so adorable. Keep cool as best you can and so sorry to hear about your asthma!

it’s been stinking hot, up here near canada! i thought the white mountains of nh were cooler..nope! 95. next week it cools down but it has been awful. nasty bad t-storms at night (altho the lightning does look very cool over the mountains).

on the plus side have seen one adult moose & twin calves, and an eagle & fledgling.

the dogs & i walk thru the campground where it is much cooler due to the 2 rivers & so many trees..the only cool place around.

Well, i’m near Houston Texas so everyone knows how it is down here! It’s been in the mid 90’s and 100’s since mid May. And we’ve been in a drought and water rationing. My back yard was so dead in one spot that when you walked on it, it just broke the grass. We finally got some much needed rain this past week and it actually got down in to the upper 80’s. That was very nice. We still need to get some more rain in this area though. I can’t wait for fall. I’m so tired of the heat.

Poor Daisy Lynn. I bet she is bored. If given the chance I bet she wouldn’t stay outside very long anyway. My dogs have been huddled up in their room every day with the window unit blasting cool air all day. We will survive!
