Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Sr. Hounds Abound Calendar Contest Lovers…

The voting booths are open and we need to get Colby Chaps the month of September in honor of his birth.

Here is the picture that won the most votes from the residents to enter into the contest.  I had to go with the light over his head (which was a concern for some of us) because it was the best fit for the lay out.  Regardless, himz is a doll baby made for love.

Hi, my name is Colby Chaps Mead and I am the proud son of the late Mayor Chaps Wayne Rudert.  I turned 11 years old in September, but age has not slowed me down one bit.  When I’m not sleeping I enjoy hunting rabbits and catching opossums (not my mom’s favorite, but they are easier to catch, and then they play dead) so I feel accomplished.  I have one adopted sister, Abby and one human sister Jourdan.  They both take really good care of me.  Abby and I enjoy howling together & taking walks! My mom always tells me I’m her ‘Colby Man’ and I like that……I also like the ‘tummy rubs’ she gives me!    I love going on a walk everyday, and my favorite part is seeing all my furry friends.  I would love to represent the month of September since it’s my Birthday Month, so vote for me…..Colby Chaps Mead!

Of course as the Mayor’s Mother I would be remiss not to mention another juicy boy that I adore.  His name is Larsen.  I hope he gets a month as well.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and September first lovers…I adore September first because that means August is OVER!!!  I guess you can tell I am not a fan of sticky humidity.

And neither is Daisy Lynn….

We both look forward to fall and the end of the dog days of summer…

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Update Lovers…One Small Step for Daisy Lynn, One Large Step for Mommy Kind!!!

Yes, Daisy Lynn made it through a few claps of thunder in her 7 months being my pup…But tonight we had our first real crashing thunder storm.

She slept through the entire thing.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Delicious Breeze Lovers…This morning Daisy Lynn and I took off early before the heat set in.  Nonetheless, the air was very close this morning .

Daisy Lynn was in ultra smelling mood all the way to the park which made for a slow start.

But when we did make it, Daisy Lynn rushed over hill and dale!

See the pink dot?  That is where we started.  We picked to walk in the grass instead of the sidewalk.

Whew…we were both hot and beat as we hit the shade trees.

Then it happened…the most delicious breeze.  Almost like fall was trying to creep in.

We must go see if our breeze is there tomorrow!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and picking a gully lovers…Just to refresh the residents regarding the word gully, it means security blanket.  It is an old family word back from when I was a baby…just like the young pup Daisy Lynn Rudert.

It took awhile to see if Daisy Lynn was going to cotton up to a gully.  All of my hounds had their own life long gully.  That is expect for Chaps Wayne.  Our late Mayor made me as his gully.

I adore, cherish and treasure all the old gullies.  I never pass them on to another hound, I use them myself.

Grandma picked out Daisy Lynn’s life long gully…

It’s a bassethoundtown cuddle blanket…

Chaps may not have had a physical gully but he is providing one for his Mayor in training!

So, I guess it seems fitting…on National Dog Day, Daisy Lynn gets her life long gully!

Fitting, yes, very fitting indeed.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Alexandria Community Park Lovers…We adore this park that is located about 20 minutes from bassethoundtown.  Interestingly, it is hidden so it is hard to find.  We stumbled upon it with the Late Mayor Chaps Wayne Rudert about a year ago.  For those of you looking for the park it is on Alexandria Drive in Alexandria, KY.

We did not know it at the time but a big blue heron was standing on a stump off to the right!

Grandma spotted the blue beauty and took this picture.

We could not get a picture of blue beauty as he or she jumped up and ducked behind the trees but it look just like this picture I found on the internet.

Wow!  What a wonderful sight to see.  We were alerted that the big blue heron was on the lake by another dog walker leaving as we are coming in.

It is rare for Grandma and I to get our picture taken together.  Another park lover offered.

Right up the bend is a small wet land preserve.  Very small but very important to maintain.

This park is a real hidden treasure.  It was funny, we could not find it so I just searched my blog and found out about howl we got there a year ago.  I hope others find it through my blog as well.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and, I HAVE A GOAT, lovers…Yes, I must report that our baby Mayor is a wild mountain goat.  She knows no fear.  Two of my main goals are to first, keep her alive and then from the emergency room!

Mommy is the one that needs the worry bed!
