Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and brushing teeth lovers….I was wondering howl many of the residents brush their hound’s tooth…get it?  Houndstooth!

Anyway….

I want to start incorporating dental hygiene into Daisy Lynn’s daily routine.  I have to admit I never brushed Chaps or Emma’s teeth.  As far as that goes, I never brushed any of my hound’s teeth.  I always had good intentions but never followed through.  It is quite the arduous task.

So, I found a package of new tooth brushes that I had for Julian when he was a toddler.

It is super soft.

I thought I would practice with just warm water and I don’t know what to use yet.  That is why I am asking the residents….

Daisy Lynn has pure white stunningly bright pretty teeth and I want to keep them that way.

It got a bit ruff towards the end with the death grip on the brush….

It all took less than a minute and if I can’t find a minute a day to brush her teeth there is something wrong with me.  I must make it a priority!

Wow, that really make a puppy tired.

Can you believe howl long she is?

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Puppy Snood Lovers…OK, this little snood has to be the cutest thing ever.  Back in 2006ish some basset friends from Japan sent me some snoods for Chaps and Emma.  We just love them so much.  In the package were a few puppy snood from their basset Blair.  Just adorable.

That is my arm at the bottom and the snood fits right in my hand.  Soooooo cute and little.

Well, I figured I better get a picture of Daisy Lynn in it now (or never).  It never did fit Emma’s head.  She was older when we got it.

Anyway….

I took about 20 pictures and this was the only one that came out half way decent.  Daisy Lynn did not like the snood so I threw in the towel and went with this pic.  Still pretty cute!

I  just love that little snood!

Howllow Fellow Basset Hound and Smart Bump Lovers…Many in the basset hound world call the bump on the top of the head (if they have one) a smart bump!

I just captured this picture of young Daisy Lynn playing with her toy right now…

Is it my imagination, or is that a smart bump?

So far she seems very smart.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Paul Newman Lovers…OMDAWG!

Paul Newman has to be the smartest hound on the planet.  He can learn so many tricks.  I cannot believe he is not a mega super star in Hollywood.  I know his Mom works to get him in the entertainment business.  I don’t think he would have any trouble getting his SAG card.  hehehe…SAG…get it?

Howllo fellow basset hound and drain pipe story NOT LOVERS…This came across the basset hound wires early this morning and of course I had to share.  Poor thing.  They got her out but it had to be scary for both owner and hound!

Firefighters and utility workers were able to save a 4-year-old Basset hound named Nina Thursday morning

 

Seattle firefighters and utility workers rescued a 4-year-old Basset hound from a North Seattle drainage pipe Thursday morning.

After the dog, Nina, decided to go on a little adventure 30 feet inside a drainage pipe on the 12800 block of Corliss Avenue North, its owner called 911 around 11:33 a.m., according to the Seattle Fire Department.

Four firefighters tried to coax the dog out, but getting her out was going to take a lot more than that.

First they dug through several feet of dirt and created a hole in the middle of the pipe to lift the dog out. They still needed to scoot her closer to the hole they made, though.

That’s when Seattle Public Utilities workers arrived on the rescue scene. With a camera mounted on top of a small, remote-controlled vehicle, the workers were eventually able to nudge Nina toward the hole firefighters could rescue her through.

Firefighters lifted her up and, after the 90-minute ordeal, reunited her with her owner.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and stitches out lovers…YES!  Our very own baby Mayor had her spay stitches out today.  We were so excited!  15 days is a long haul of a calm recovery for a puppy!

Grandma held her head to keep her calm.  It worked.

Dr. Doan said she looked great!

Whew…check that mile stone off the list.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and play date lovers.  Today, Daisy Lynn had her first play date with Romeo and Enzo.  OMDAWG!  We had so much fun.

Here we are waiting for Romeo and Enzo to come in from outside.

Our new Mayor was very polite and did not jump or scream.  She tends to get really excited, much like most pups!

Let the smelling begin!

Look howl cute Romeo is getting down on her level.  He was so polite and welcoming…Enzo was as well.  A real gentleman….

I think Daisy Lynn fell in love…I saw her kiss Romeo once…

Then really big news!  Julian got home from school!  Well, a perfect day just got better!

Well you can imagine we have one tired Mayor!

Howl can a puppy’s life get any better?

Shhhhhhhhhhhh……Romeo and Enzo will be over next week for a few days….Dreams do come true!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Facebook find of the day lovers….Today I have 3 for you!

Let’s start first with Hal!  Remember himz?  He lives in Japan.  I am friends with his Mom.  She told me that Hal has to ride in this buggy while in the halls of their apartment building.

I just don’t know what I would do if I saw this coming down the hall.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and the wonders of a sunset lovers…

The sun was setting behind our Daisy Lynn and in a split second I captured this!

The sun was creeping in behind her ear.

Daisy Lynn has been doing some barking and she has a beautiful low voice.  I am anxiously awaiting her first howl.  Hope I can capture it on video…She is really blooming!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and new toys lovers…Daisy Lynn loves, loves, loves toys.  I am also pleased to report that she does not tear them up.  She is very careful not to destroy them which makes me really happy.

Here is the package that arrived from her Aunt Nin!  That blue box is full of toys.  She loves them Aunt Nin!

Then she received another favorite from resident Cindy, Rugs (ATB), Harriet, and Oz.

We call it the purple monster…

Then today, we opened a box from Audra, Colby Chaps and Abby.  Is this the cutest thing ever?  It is a baby bottle toy.  Soooo cute!

She played with it so hard she passed out from being plum tired!

Can playing with toys make a baby longer?  She just seems so long!

Audra also sent another special gift that requires its own blog posting which I will do very soon.  I thought it was another toy, but it was not…It was a gift for me….

Thank Dog she is not the kind of  hound to rip things up…
