Grandma makes sure I have my pink terry snood on when I go potty!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and keeping basset hound ears from freezing lovers…This is a real problem this winter with temps falling below zero and into the minuses. Even with Daisy Lynn only allowed out for minutes at a time we are protecting her long ears from dragging into the ice and snow.
Too bad there is not a snood for the rear end!
The temps have been brutal and are going to remain in the minuses all of next week.
This was Emma’s terry cloth spa snood but it is sure coming in handy this winter for Daisy Lynn.
We monitor her time outside and never leave her for more than a few minutes.
As far as I can remember it has never ever been this cold in bassethoundtown. Scary cold!
More loving pink terry snoods later…Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB so happy that Mommy has this Shimlette hand-me-down!) PS – Burger had blue ones!
Neat idea to keep her ears warm & dry. It is so bitterly cold here too & the snow won’t stop falling. Yesterday evening Ollie had to go out so my husband took him & he could hardly stand up. Counting the days till Spring!
Oh, Darling, Darling Daisy Lynn! I am swooning from the cuteness of your photos wearing your pink snood!
Nosey and Sam the Dog are all over me, asking me to get them snoods of their very own. I am on the case…
Stay warm and dry, you sweet thing! xoxo
She looks so sweet.
Wind Chill Warning here again until Tuesday afternoon. Schools are already closing for Monday and Tuesday because of the cold. We have had a ton of snow and Sophie really misses Nell when it comes to going outside. Nell loved the snow and she loved to “plow” the snow. Sophie would always follow along behind while Nell made the path. Mabel “bounces” out the door and bounces around the yard, never making a great path. Yesterday Sophie finally found a spot and Mabel kept rolling her into the snow because she wanted to run and play. Sophie came in and curled up on a blankie in front of the register and ignored everybody.
Stay warm!
Get ready for the coldest days in Bassethoundtown in many years. Highs reach 5 degrees and lows -13 on Monday and Tuesday. Hope everyone keeps their hounds inside in their sweaters with plenty of blankets. Abby loves her sweaters! Stay warm…….and put on a pot of soup!
Daisy Lynn is A D O R A B L E ! ! !
Our temps are not near as bad and most in basset hound town but they are unusually cold for us. The bad thing is, we don’t have the equipment and aren’t set up to handle anything freezing for more than a few hours. Our streets and overpasses shut down with a thin layer of ice. We have trucks that dump a salt mix but I don’t know why that doesn’t work for us all the time. I actually don’t think we have enough trucks or enough of the salt mix. I’ve just been taking off work when I know it’s going to be bad. I’ve got plenty of time and with only a year left until retirement, I figured I better use it while I can. So, I’m staying home Tuesday and Wednesday. Tomorrow/Tuesday is supposed to be the worse day for us and through Wednesday morning.
Stay warm and safe everyone!
Does anyone know of a down coat for a Basset Hound.
Maureen – Chaps had a down coat.
