Mr. Chewy asked bassethoundtown to review a dog treat!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Mr. Chewy lovers…
I have blogged before about howl I picked Mr. Chewy as the bassethoundtown.com official site for purchasing dog treats and food for the young Mayor Daisy Lynn.
Mr. Chewy also has a blogger program that we are a part of from time to time. When a request came out to some bloggers to try these treats I was very interested.
There is an obvious trend sweeping the country to eat healthier and to know what is in our food. All of this information is helping us make better decisions for ourselves and the hounds we love.
Check it out! Right on the back of the box. GMO free! Now that is something!
Duck and Cherry treats even come with a calorie count!
So, I assembled my focus group…Daisy Lynn showing extreme interest with her tail just a blur with wagging…
Look at the cute packaging! I love a polka dot but the real test is the taste!
Did I say I love polka dots?
This healthy snack was a huge success! All three focus group participants were more than pleased and begged for more!
More loving healthy treats later…Cat, Daisy Lynn, (Chaps and Emma ATB GMO free)
You are a polka dot kinda gal. So, question, just how many calories is a hound allowed daily? I guess it would depend on how many pounds your hound should weigh. If 50 pounds is the right size, maybe 500 cals a day?
Good question Cindy. I have no idea but I am sure many of our hounds get over their amount! hehehe – Just like most of us humans!
Love the polka dots. Mine would be green though!!!!
Also, dip those doggy treats in melted dark chocolate, and they sound good enough for us Humans to eat!!
cherries are also good for arthritis relief. i give my guys tart cherry tabs when they are achy (i take them as well) & during cherry season it’s a free for all with pitted cherries.
Lois – I have a new addiction. It is the frozen without pits cherries at Krogers. They so so delicious. I pop them like candy. They are the Kroger brand and lots of other frozen fruit in that section. What a great suggestion for arthritis relief for hounds. Thanks!
Has anyone tried the Sojo freeze dried food? I am trying to find a good, healthy food for my hounds.
Sandy – I also buy Daisy Lynn’s food and treats via Mr. Chewy. Here is a copy of our last order. I went with Nature’s Variety Instinct because it is what my holistic vet feeds his dogs. Daisy Lynn loves it! The best part is every time you order the dog food kibble you can switch the protein source so the hound gets something different each bag. That stuff that comes in the can is a raw powder that you can sprinkle over the kibble. The cookies are are natural and very good according to Daisy Lynn. So – please anyone else chime in with suggestions and Sandy if you do go for the Sojo let me know what you think!!!
