Denise Corliss is pictured with her search dog Bretagne at Ground Zero in New York City in September 2001. It was their first deployment together.
Here she is currently…older with her graceful face…
Bretagne has never really felt ready to retire. She still gets excited about putting on a service vest.

I remember reading many stories about dogs that aided in the search and comfort of many of the victims of 9/11. They were inspirational.
