Psycho Black Friday and Leftovers!…
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Leftovers Lovers…Did you venture out for Black Friday? Some folks go psycho for the deals! Whew…not us. We never go out on Black Friday. It is scary!
Instead I made bassethoundtown hot brown casserole! OMDog…it was so good. I hope I don’t go on and on too much about my recipe but I want to make sure I remember it for the future.
My sister gave us lots of leftovers!
I took the dinner rolls and crumbled them into a casserole dish. I melted butter and poured it over the rolls. Then I baked them until golden brown.
In a large skillet I added butter, cream and all of the cheese from the platter my sister gave me. There were about 6 different cheeses and lots of it. I then added all of the left over chopped white meat turkey, onions, peppers, jalapenos, several scoops of hot salsa, a splash of wine, and a bag of frozen peas. I simmered that for about an hour then I poured the mixture all over the crumbled rolls. I topped it with prosciutto wrapped mozzarella circles on top of heirloom tomato slices stuffed with basil and more mozzarella. Then I sprinkled bacon crumbles over the top of the whole thing…OMDog!
I baked it for about an hour….
For dessert we had a hunk of corn bread topped with my sister’s home made cranberry sauce and Chantilly cream made by my brother in law. I forgot to take a picture of that. I was too excited!
Daisy Lynn got a few piece of white turkey sprinkled with bacon bits.
She then needed a turkey nap!
I turned on TMC and watched Psycho!
More loving Black Friday later…Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB full of Chantilly Cream!)
I know I’m reporting this rather late, but we are having our Thanksgiving dinner TODAY. Our power went out Wed. afternoon with the heavy wet snow. It came back on Fri, afternoon late. So we just postponed it a couple of days and finagled it around everyone’s work schedule!! We New Englanders are pretty hearty folk.
Cat, your recipes are TO DIE FOR!!! YUMMMMY
