Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and all’s well that ends well lovers…Whew…Thank Dog Daisy Lynn is safe! What happened was that we had a huge wind storm today. It was a freak day with 50 mile an hour winds.
Every morning before I open Daisy Lynn’s porch gate I make sure the back yard is secure. I view the fence line and main gate. You never know what could happen during the night. It was all good so I let her go down to the bottom level. It was windy and 63 degrees but I did not realize the force of the wind. The main gate was shut and locked.
During the course of Daisy Lynn being out the wind blew a garbage can and hit the gate and it popped open. It was locked in two spots. I did not hear it.
I was sitting at my computer and my heart started to race and I felt some panic. It was really strange. I could not figure out my anxiety???
So, I got up and checked on Daisy Lynn and our back gate was wide open. All the blood rushed from head and I felt faint. I was sick and terrified. I ran out the gate area and my eyes were bugging out. I was getting ready to scream her name and I spotted her on the porch of our neighbor. They have 2 girls that Daisy Lynn goes crazy for. Thank Dog she wanted to visit them. I called her and she rushed to me. I did not trust her to follow me back to our yard so I picked her up under her arm pits. She is so long that her back legs were dragging. As I put her in the back yard she bolted again and ran back to the neighbor’s porch. I was faint with fear. At this point I started making a huge fuss that “Grandma is here, Grandma is here, look it’s Grandma,” and she came running…I thought I would collapse.
Safe and sound. I was so frantic. The cars race down our street so fast.
It only takes a second.
One second we are trying on her new hat that Marsie (Mom to Nosey and Sam) gave her yesterday…

Complete with her name…

And the next second I am freaking out…
Thank you so much Marsie. We love our new Trapper Hat! You are the best!
More loving all’s good that ends good later…Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma making sure that Mommy knew to check on Daisy Lynn…)
