Bumper Alessandro February 18, 2002 – June 22, 2015
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Bumper Lovers – As many of the resident know, I was in love with Bumper. Today his Mommy Judy and his Daddy Rick made the decision to help him over the rainbow bridge.
Bumper was 13 1/2 years old and lived a fantastically blessed life with his family. Bumper is survived by his Mom Judy, his Dad Rick, and his sister Abby who is also 13 1/2 years old.
Bumper’s was a gentle saint with a huge soul that will be missed tremendously by his family, his friends of bassethoundtown, and by his massive following on facebook.
Bumper with the Mayor Daisy Lynn at the bassethoundtown walking club event…
Bumper was one of the greats that will leave a lasting legacy for his bounty of unconditional love.
Bumper’s health declined over the past several weeks and today he told his family it was time.
Please keep Judy, Rick and Abby in your thoughts and prayers as they grieve the passing of their precious Bumper…
Move loving and remembering Bumper later…Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB showing Bumper around…)
I am so saddened to hear about Bumper. He was such a handsome hound and a big part of Basset Hound Town. We are losing too many hounds in this town. We here at the Doyle household will have our paws crossed as the hearts of Bumper’s family start to heal. Bumper was a very lucky hound. He had a fabulous life.
Thank you so much Cat for the beautiful story of Bumper’s wonderful life with us. He truly was a great hound and everyone who met him loved him. My heart is broken, Abby is very confused even though she did kiss him good bye. My wonderful son sent me flowers. The grandkids will miss our big guy sitting in the middle of their games. I do not have my Bumper vacuum to clean up every morsel of food that is on the floor. There is no more “happy food dance”. When Rick comes home from work. He is not there to greet me at the door when I come home. I am devestated.
About an hour after we lost Bumper we had an ultrasound on Abby because of a urinary issue. Unfortunately she has a tumor in her bladder and it is not operable. He said we have limited time with her. We are totally beside ourself right now. Our family is truly broken
Words can’t express my sorrow for you at this time Judy, now with the news on Abby. Hold her tight and love her while you can. Feel comfort in the fact that they had wonderful lives with you and your family. It’s so very hard to lose a hound after so many years. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Judy I am so sorry to hear this, Bumper was a great big beautiful guy he had a wonderful life we will miss him and so will Daisy.
So sorry for your loss of such a great fellow and now the news about Abby. Please know that
Heidi and I are thinking about you at this
terrible time. I know your loss is great.
Oh Judy, my heart breaks for you and your family. Your dogs are not just dogs, they are your family and it’s terrible to have to make those decisions. When words can’t ease your pain, hopefully all your sweet memories can.
Judy- I never had the chance to meet Bumper except thru the blog here but I do know he was very special. I will keep you & your family in my thoughts & prayers. My heart goes out to you and what you are going thru. You will always carry his paw prints in your heart. Sandy
