Bassethoundtown has been without power going on 15 hours:(

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and without power haters…OMD – what a hassle!  Our power is not expected back on until 10pm tonight.  We are really over it!

The day before we had to rush to our safe spot in the basement because of a tornado warning! We got the all clear and were not in that path of that storm.

But the next day we had straight line winds and torrential downpours that cut off our power.

I bought 50 pounds of ice last night and saw this…

I guess they were fixing someone else…:(  Don’t they know I have the Mayor to worry about?  Her comfort is paramount!

Here she is watching me haul in the ice!

Now Grandma and I are at the library charging up our devices for the long hot day ahead.  What a bummer…but we will survive!

When we leave here it is off to buy more ice –

More loving ice later…Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB with rainbow power!)

That’s terrible! Let me guess, you have Duke Energy for electrical service? I sure hope you don’t lose stuff in your freezer. Good luck and those storms were off the charts!

I feel your pain! We were out of electricity for 27 hours after hurricane Ike. I didn’t open freezer and only opened fridge when I absolutely had to. I keep one freezer full of frozen plastic juice and soft drink bottles full of water. I started putting those in fridge after a while and right before I was going to pack the meat from my freezer in to a cooler with more ice bottles, the electric came on. We got lucky with electricity coming on so soon cuz during hurricanes ice is usually scarce as they can’t bring any in due to damage and debris on roads. Hope you get your power back soon!

I am sure the Mayor appreciates all your efforts and concerns. The Mayor is somewhat self-reliant.

I really feel bad for you all Cat. I don’t know what is worse, no power in the heat of the summer for days on end or in the freezing cold winter for days on end. I’ve had it both ways and let me tell you, it’s NO fun either way! Good luck in getting it back by 10PM. I know we’re all rootin’ for you;_)
