My Grandhound has gone over the rainbow….Colby Chaps Mead:(
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and the Late Colby Chaps Mead, lovers…
One of the greats in our basset hound community has crossed over the rainbow bridge. He was my Grandhound and I adored him.
I was fortunate to be a part of the majority of his life when I e-mailed his Mom back in 2007. I had just adopted his Daddy, the late Mayor Chaps Wayne Rudert of bassethoundtown and found out that he had fathered one litter. In that litter was the one and only Colby Chaps Mead. His Mommy, Audra and I became instant friends and never went a few days without communicating. We both are devoted basset hound rescue advocates and work together to promote responsible ownership. Colby Chaps is proceeded in death by his little rescue sister Abby. He was surrounded by his loved ones and HOSPICE at the time of his passing. Colby Chaps was almost 13 years old and was experiencing some complications of old age. He dedicated his life to his family and brought them an abundance of joy and love with his kind and gentle nature. Colby Chaps Mead made this world a better place. Thank you my Grandhound I will be eternally grateful.
More loving and never forgetting my Grandhound…Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB with Colby Chaps…)
So sorry to hear about Colby Chaps. Keeping you & Audra & family in my thoughts & prayers.
Once again I am sobbing as I feel the pain that Audra and her family are feeling right now. It has only been 6 weeks since we lost our baby boy Bumper. I know how hard it is and I am so sorry for their loss. I am hoping that Colby has met up with Abby, Chaps, Emma and Bumper. I am sure in the 6 weeks Bumper has been there that he can show Colby where to find the unlimited treats and buffet. Even though we are all so sad at this time I am thankful that these two wonderful dogs are not suffering and are running and playing together. Hugs to you Audra
Colby Chaps was so loved sorry to hear this Audra he will be missed .
This news is so devastating. He was such a sweet boy.
Our thoughts are with you during this awful time.
Much Sympathy,
Monnie and Heidi
What a wonderful tribute to such a wonderful boy. I know how hard it is right now. Please find comfort in the fact that you gave him the best life any hound could have. He was very loved, well taken care of and always so very happy. Our thoughts are with you at this time. Colby Chaps will never be forgotten.
With Sympathy,
The Doyle family.
Can we do something in Colby’s honor? Like donate in his name to a rescue that he may have been involved in?
Cindy – I will check. That is very sweet of you…
