Howllo Fellow Basset and Doyle Hound Lovers…Cindy of Jethro (ATB), Rugs (ATB), Ozzie (ATB) and Harriet have been bassethoundtown’s longest residents. I started the town back in September of 2006. That is when the Doyles moved to town and set up residence. I think, from let to right is Rugs, Jethro, Harriet, and Ozzie.

Obituary written by Cindy Doyle, Mom to Ozzie…
Ozzie came to us through Basset Buddies Rescue of Texas. He was tied to a fence one night outside of a kill shelter, along with another basset, Harriet.
He was heartworm positive so he went through heartworm treatment, was neutered, then I took him in to recover and foster.
Because of their age, required dual adoption due to bonded, and Harriet’s issue with not trusting humans, it made it difficult to find them a home. After a year of trying to get them adopted, we fell in love with the pair. So, we adopted them both.
Ozzie was a lover. I called him my big white teddy bear. He loved to snuggle and cuddle. It was so cute. His hair was thick, soft and shiny. I was told many times that he was an unusual color for a basset. I always thought he was beautiful with all the white.
He loved walks and laying in the yard when it was sunny. He had a very calm and laid back personality and loved children.
We’re not sure how old Ozzie was but he was estimated at being 7 or 8 when we got him. I’m sure they over estimated his age by a few years due to his light coloring and bad teeth. In the end, Oz had knee and back arthritis. But failing kidneys is what took him.
Ozzie lived a wonderful life and will be missed. He is now at the Basset Hound Town section of the rainbow bridge with his brothers Jethro and Rugs and playing with all his friends. Fly free my sweet boy.
Ozzie is survived by his bonded mate Harriet…
CBFF and Harriet
Thank you Cindy for writing this beautiful obituary. Cindy reports that Harriet is doing really well, all things considered. Here she is lying on her futon gazing out her window, watching the world go by…
I told Cindy to whisper in his long ear that when he got over the rainbow that he was to turn to the right and the bassethoundtown section was the third cloud to the north. Chaps would be waiting…
Thank you Cindy aka CBFF (Cyber Best Friend Forever) for loving the elders and being such a loyal resident of bassethoundtown…
Love you…
More loving Oz later…Cat, Daisy Lynn, (Chaps and Emma ATB with Oz the white teddy with the lace ear…)
