Cincinnati River Walk at Smale Park – 4 paws up!

July 31st, 2016 - 12:12 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and River Walk Lovers…Just about 5 minutes from bassethoundtown’s main location is this wonderful way to spend a day or a weekend.  We are so lucky to have this so close.

Cincinnati River Walk at Smale Park Walking Tour Map…

We started out right here, across from a 5 dollar parking lot.  You can see that wide, flat walking path right behind me.  It goes on for miles.

CRW1

We love to walk but yesterday was too hot to go too far and we are never ones to push ourselves or be in a hurry!  LOL – I tell most folks who ask about basset hounds that they are great family dogs.  They are loving, kind, and safe.  I also say, “if you get a basset hound you can’t be in a hurry.  You have to take life with a slow paced stride and believe you me you will be better for it.”

So we found a cool place to stop and rest with all the other kids!  This cool mist come right up from vents in this little, quaint setting.

CRW3

Daisy Lynn seemed to love it.  The kids (and kids at heart) sure loved her.  I would consider our Mayor one of the main attractions yesterday.  I could not even count the smiles we gathered up…

CRW2

What a wonderful way to take a Saturday stroll.  We adore strolling.

And we adore swinging…

CRW5

After our misting session we strolled down to the huge porch swings.  Yes, this is the front porch of Cincinnati.  Take a river boat or ride a bike and come swing.

CRW7

There are about 40 or more swings.  The positive energy in this area is palpable.

CRW4

Another good reason to have a basset hound is they fit under the swings!  hehehehe

CRW7

A grand time was had by all on our front porch…

CRW6

More loving strolling and swinging later…Cat, Daisy Lynn, (Chaps and Emma ATB misting in the rainbow cooling station…)

There are so many selling platforms on the internet it drives me crazy!

July 27th, 2016 - 3:03 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and selling your wares lovers…Gosh!  I just cannot get over howl much work it is to sell on the internet.  It used to be that ebay was the one and only platform that we used.  Of course I participate because of the traffic but I am partial to my own bassethoundtown boutique.  “Bless it’s heart!”  But now we have Etsy, Facebook, and Ebay just to name a few.  So, every time I post an item I have to decide what platform to put it on if I have just one piece.  Whew…

I did open a facebook boutique where I am slowing putting things into it.  If you are on facebook please go like my page.  I like the facebook format because you can post little videos of your product without having to go to yet another platform YouTube.  So here is the link for my new facebook page…

Bassethoundtown Enterprises, LLC Boutique and Rescue

Now – I want to show case another new snood in the 2016 bassethoundtown collection.  It is called Shining Star Disco Snood!  LOL!

18.00 shipping free and comes with 2 blank disco ball greeting cards from the Lily Collection.

SSDS12

Another thing I like about Facebook and Etsy is that you can post a lot more pictures of your item than in my boutique.

SSDS1

Since I have several of these snoods that I designed I am putting them on multiple platforms.

SSDS7

This snood is NOT adjustable like most of my designs are.  I consider it a large and was too big for Daisy Lynn and her delicate head!  LOL – but she did still model it.

SSDS13

This snood is very lightweight (you can basically see through it) and is hand wash, line dry only.

SSDS15

This snood comes with 2 free blank bassethoundtown greeting cards from the Lily Collection!  Howl perfect is this combination?

It’s Lily on a disco ball!

SSDS10

All of my boutique items come with a 20% off coupon on your next order.  No expiration date…

SSDS16

YOUR A SHINING STAR, NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE, SHINING BRIGHT TO BE, FOR THE WORLD TO SEE!

More loving my boutique later…Cat, Daisy Lynn (doing the bump) (Chaps and Emma ATB Disco dreamin’)

Wanna see some very cute pictures of the cousins???

July 18th, 2016 - 9:09 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Cousin lovers…LOL – yes, yes, yes – very cute pictures of the Mayor and her kissin’ cousin Romeo.  The big guy was back at camp last week and I captures some really cute pictures.

“Hey Romeo, if you follow me we can go up to Grandma’s for some extra treats!”

RomeoSV4

“Then we can lay here on this landing and wait for Mommy to come looking for us, hehehe”

RomeoSV2

And look I did!  Then I saw this! I was so lucky to have my phone in my pocket!  These moments are fleeting and rare.  This is one I want to remember!  Darling…

More loving kissin’ cousins later…Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB sharing with Enzo…)

4 years old starts out simply amazing!

July 12th, 2016 - 8:08 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and 4 year old lovers…July 12, 2016 is a great day!  It started off with a birthday belly rub!

DL4:1

Then, we found some birthday packages at the front door and in the mail!  I set them all up for a Birthday Girl photo shoot — Of Course!!!

DL4:2

The number one thing to take care of was BIRTHDAY COOKIES!  The smell was so good that Daisy Lynn almost jumped on the table.  She looked liked one of those gymnastic girls going to the Olympics – the ones doing the vault thing!  hehehe

Yummy!

Thank you so much Audra and Bindi!  As you can see the cookies are Amazing!

Also, a big thank you to my BFF for even more cookies!!!

DL4:3

The day was just getting better and better!

OMDawg!  Look what Annie Alessandro gave her Mayor and BFF!!!

It was so funny!  Daisy Lynn thought her new toy was a real puppy and even had to whiff the rear end!  – She really loves it!

DL4:4

Then Grandma and I wanted to come up with something to honor Daisy Lynn and we both came up with an art project in the Ladies Room.

First Daisy Lynn had to approve the actual site.

DL4:5

We are using this little table as a work bench and have all of our beautiful rocks to pick from.  We have been going on rock collecting expeditions getting ready for the project…

You can kinda see in the background a few of the rocks being laid for our mosaque!

DL4:6

So in honor of our Mayor Daisy Lynn we are going to incorporate rock daisies into our art project…

DL4:7

Here is a closer look at the detail…

DL4:8

Happy Birthday Daisy Lynn, we love you…Mommy and Grandma…

More loving our Daisy Lynn later…Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB making rainbow daisies on pathways of clouds…)

Happy Birthday to Mayor Daisy Lynn Rudert! 4 years old today!!!

July 12th, 2016 - 10:10 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Birthday lovers.  Today is a big day in our town and the Mayor’s birthday is a national howl-o-day.  If you are at work you should leave and also mark it on your calendar for next year and the years to follow!  Daisy Lynn woke up in fine form and ready for her day.

I will now unveil the award winning birthday picture to mark her 4th year!

Ta Da….

4 Years never looked finer!

4 Years never looked finer!

Yesterday we planted the Coleus up on the hill, under the magnolia.  I will get a picture of it today.  It looks amazing!

Really, where does the time go?  It seems like a few days ago that I was pacing the floors of the cargo hanger at CVG airport.  I can still see her being wheeled in on that huge cargo van.

More of the amazing journey later…Cat, Daisy Lynn, (Chaps and Emma ATB eating rainbow birthday cake…)

Photo shoot for Daisy Lynn’s 4th birthday!

July 5th, 2016 - 7:07 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and photo shoot lovers.  Grandma and I have not picked the birthday money shot yet but I thought I would share a few with you from today’s session…

Could our Mayor be any stinkin’ cuter?

BD#4:1

We decided to shoot in the backyard this year because it look so pretty.

Pretty is as pretty does!

BD#4:3

Then she ran inside and said…

“I’m done!”

BD#4:2

Well, just look at those rump roast swirls!  Perfection, be we can’t use this one!!!

More waiting for the perfect money shot later…Cat, Daisy Lynn, (Chaps and Emma ATB enjoying the swirls…)

Penobscot Bay Maine Fire Chief saves the day!!! Love him…

July 2nd, 2016 - 10:10 am KY Time

Howllo fellow basset hound and Fire Chief and Fire Fighter Lovers…What would be do with them?  So brave and strong…

I ran across this story via the bassethoundtown news wires this morning and had to share with the residents!

A reporter for the Penobscot Bay Pilot in Maine had quite the morning on June 28th 2016!

Beatrice the Basset is safe, thanks to the Rockport Fire Chief

ROCKPORT —  Sometimes the day just doesn’t go as planned. For this reporter, it happened on June 28.

I was scurrying about to get out the door on time for an afternoon meeting. Car keys. Check. Cell phone in purse. Check. Dinner thawing on the kitchen counter. Check. Now, it was time for my last duty: bringing in my two basset hounds from their fenced in yard area so they wouldn’t howl and annoy the neighbors after my departure.

So, I made my booming call to Teddy and Beatrice to come inside. Teddy, my very obedient 10-year-old hound, quickly responded and came right to the back door. His younger sister, Beatrice, did not.

I shouted some more and promised treats if she responded; still, no Beatrice.

I went outside to look for her and suddenly heard “my” owl, who has taken up residence in the woods near my house, give a trio of piercing screams, instead of its regular soothing trill. I admit that I can be superstitious at times, and this was one of those occasions.

Once the owl was silent, I then heard a soulful wimper. I followed the sound to an opening where I spotted part of a long snout and about an inch of a long floppy basset ear protruding from a small opening beneath the porch. Beatrice was stuck between the floorboards. She had dug a hole from the side of the deck and crawled underneath completely to the other side.

B3

I was scared that Beatrice had injured herself.

I needed help to free her and the only thing I thought of doing next was to call the Rockport Fire Chief, Jason Peasley.

B4

B2

Peasley arrived quickly, chainsaw in hand, and with a calm and soothing approach.

Fortunately, it was a quick rescue and Beatrice was happy to be liberated from her “porch prison.”

The ever obedient Teddy behind the porch crasher….Queen B!

Kids occasionally get into trouble. They respond whenever needed, at all times of the day, and not just for fires, emergencies or accident scenes. And some are the type of calls that don’t regularly make the news.

The deck will need repairing before any entertaining takes place this summer. That’s okay. Beatrice is safe and hopefully this has taught her a hard lesson.

End of article…

More loving a good ending later…Cat, Daisy Lynn, (Chaps and Emma ATB honoring the bravest and the finest this howloday weekend…)
