Have you ever seen a hound skip? Frank did today;)
Howllo Fellow Basset and hounds that skip lovers…..
Yes, it appeared to me that Frankie was skipping as we left the pound. When I went in to get him he was laying towards the back of his kennel looking out the dog door. Then he turned his head, saw me and went totally ballistic. It was the cutest, sweetest thing I think I have ever seen. He was so excited. We did the 50 yard dash out of there. He won!
I wanted to stop and get a picture of him leaving the pound.
There was no light growling today! Just a lot of jumping, howling, and skipping!
We could not ditch the pound quick enough!
Hurry up, floor this Basset Hauling Vehicle and let’s make tracks!
We headed right to Mr. Vet Man. I didn’t care. I got my very first ear rubs! As you can tell, I really enjoyed that!
I never left my Aunt Cat’s side. I made sure I sat on her foot so she could not leave.
This head rub almost put me to sleep at her feet!
This is just me sitting pretty. I do not take a bad picture and I have more expressions than a hollywood movie actor, (remember Grandma thinks I look like a matinee idol)!
Just look at this face!
I had no idea where I even was. I was never at a vet before! Dr. Doan was very nice and gave mez tweets! He also told me I was heart worm negative! More good news!
Frankie had more affection today than he had his entire life.
AND GUESS WHAT? Frank the fantastic has a place to go!
Suzanne Fitch of
Mid-Atlantic Basset Hound Rescue is taking himz!
She was thrilled that the residents of basset hound town are chipping in to vet, neuter and board himz. I told her that I thought that most if not all of his expenses will be covered by donations that we are pulling together. As we all know, times are ruff and we all helped, if only, by networking, to get Frankie a forever home.
So far, we have raised about 200 dollars that will go to pay his bill at the vet office. He will be neutered on Monday along with, anal gland expression, deep ear cleaning, toe nail clipping, home again chip, vaccinations, and a bath! He will also get his first heart worm treatment and his first ever frontline flea treatment.
Boarding is 18 dollars per day so we are working to keep that cost down. Suzanne has already put Frank into the Pilots for Paws to see if we can get him airborne! Howl cool is that?
If you want to send a small donation you can paypal me at:

I am so proud to be able to join all of you in helping Frank the Fantastic. You all make the world a better place to live in.
I still don’t understand, why, why, why, anyone that has had a dog and unable to keep the animal would drop them off at a pound. There are so many rescues out there, and if you didn’t know of any a vet could let you know.
In the future, I only plan to deal with rescues instead of puppies or Bassets from a breeder. When you deal with a rescue you seem to get and give more love all around.
