Hi every bodyz, itz mez, Frankiez! Member mez?
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and just wondering what our Frankie is doing lovers…….
This morning I contacted Erica to check on Frank. Frank spent the night with her and her husband last night after the hand off from Connie. I did a mini interview with Erica to see howl our boy was doing…..
Erica responded…..
“Frankie is going to stay overnight on Friday with my friend in NJ (the
one fostering Sweetie, the other dog Connie transported). Then his
foster is picking him up Saturday morning at my friend’s house. So I
guess we give the books to the foster and tell him they are to go to
Suzanne?”
(Cat here, I sent a case of Lily books with Frankie so he could help some of the other hounds at Mid-Atlantic Basset Hound Rescue. I wanted him to make a good first impression and it is always good to come baring gifts. I told Erica I wanted to do a blog posting about her responses.)
“Ooooh, we can an official blog! I’m so excited! “
“Attached is a pic we took in the car. Not the best as it is a cell
phone pic, but you are welcome to use it (and crop my husband out if you
want..lol).”
(Cat here…why in the world would I crop out a cute hubby? Neva!)
“We picked him up in VA at 7:45. Then we had a 2 hour drive back to our
home in central Delaware. He had some food and water, and played in our
backyard. He likes his toys. He climbed on the back of the couch and
was playing with toys inside too. Hard to keep a hound still! And I’m
not positive, but I’m pretty sure he was routing for the Philadelphia
Flyers…lol. He likes his travel buddy, Sweetie, though she’s not into
playing yet. Still too shy. But he met my senior pit Dolly and they
were good together too. No playing with her either. He does want to
play though, you can tell. I just don’t tend to put myself or my guys
through the stress of intros if they aren’t staying all that long. But
my husband played with his and he was having fun. He was mouthing
gently like he would play with another dog. It was kinda funny. He
fell asleep across the back floor of my car. How that is comfortable
with the hump in the middle, I have no clue, but he was enjoying
himself…lol. He is very observant. Whenever Frankie would see
anything, he’d go running toward it to see what it was. There was a
frog in our yard, but thankfully Frankie didn’t see him…lol.
He slept on a bunch of blankets in our half bath with window open for
some fresh air- would love him in the bed, but no room (my husband and I
and 6 dogs…lol) and no time for intros 🙁
He slept well. He was quiet at first and then he barked a little bit
cause he wanted to be with us, but within a few minutes, he quieted down
and had a nice night’s sleep.
And, yes, he did get half a pain pill. He didn’t seem like he needed
it…lol…but I gave it to him anyway.
Animal people are just incredible, how we all come together to make
things happen. It really is inspiring and amazing! Thank you so much.
That really means a lot. Thank YOU for all you do! I love the
houndies!! Erica.”
(Cat here….Erica was the gal that e-mailed me to see if Frankie needed a ride! I told her when I opened her e-mail I was so excited I cried! What luck!”
More Frankie pupdates later……Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

I’m so happy to hear Frankie is doing so well. Thank you Erica for taking our Frankie. Sounds like he is settling in with all the changes and doing well. Cant wait to hear more on the little fella at the foster home:) Thanks to all who made this story so wonderful:)
He looks like he is having so much fun. He knows there is more love to come 🙂
I am so happy to hear that Frankie is being cared for, and when you think about what an amazing thing we all did, when we pulled together to help Frankie.
I just love the close up of Frankie! He is off to a great start! Be good sweet boy!
Sounds like he is having the time of his life with all these new experiences. How sad that his previous owners didn’t know what a prize they had.
We will always remember you, Frankie. Once a resident of BHT, always a resident.
