One can never be too safe when it comes to the Mayor’s eyes!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and the Mayor’s eyes lovers…..
Well, over the weekend Chaps and I were in the kitchen milling around. He was in his comfort corner watching and waiting for his various snacks. So, I was giving him and Emma a little chunk of rye bread. He was looking up at me like this.
As you can see, I can look right into his eyes. On Saturday night I noticed a blueish fog over the top of his left eye. The old stomach flips and I get a bit woozy. So I call down Grandma for a second opinion. What do we do? I try not to panic but I just bust out in tears. I think it was just stress, but none the less you can imagine howl we worry about eyes around here.
So, Grandma and I make the decision to wait until morning and see howl it looks. Of course we have strong bands of thunderstorms moving through and I have to give the Mayor his Xanax. I decide to lay in bed with him and Emma and just weather the storm.
As I am petting Chaps it hits me. I remember a blog posting I did about a year ago with almost the same senerio! Without my blog I would have never remembered all of the details.
So, I search my own blog and find this posting from back in April of 2009.
We had a scare this morning and Chaps is fine…..
It was basically the same thing that was happening…..I called Grandma and we both felt much better about our decision not to rush to the ER. The only reason I would have done that would have been to check his pressures for glaucoma.
So, it’s Sunday morning. Chaps eye actually looks a tiny bit better! It is still kind of foggy, but better! So Grandma and I decide to wait until today.
Well, it looks about the same as it did yesterday so we have an appointment in a few hours. Dang! You never can be too safe when it comes to the Mayor’s eyes!
Dog gone it! I think he will be fine and the Doctor will probably just give us some eye ointment but I want to know what it is. What causes it? He has had some gunk in his eyes this past week. He has always had eye troubles. Eye troubles seem to run in his line.
Poor Mayor and Poor Mommy. I need to get a grip.
More eye updates later…..Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
Cat your such a good Momma. I hope and pray our Mayor Chaps will be just fine. Miss Riley is sitting next to me right now and drooling her basset head off( sorta speak). We are keeping our paws and fingers crossed.
We will keep him in our thoughts. Keep us updated.
We all hope Chaps os OK. Keep us posted on his vet trip.
I’m sure it’s the same thing but he may need some more ointment so it’s good to take him in.
Keep us posted! Oh, and don’t forget the FF’s!
Any news yet! Slinky and I are worried about the Mayor.
I hope all goes well, sounds like the same thing, there is a new eye ointment in Foster and Smiths catalog that is supposed to help sensitive eyes to not be as easily irritated. I am sure the vet will give you some thing good. Feel better Chaps!
Always better safe than sorry. I am ready to head to the vet if I think somethig seems a little strange.
