Episode 2 – Tomatos and Basset Hounds. This just in from resident Lois!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Lois and her tomato loving hound lovers. Lois is so funny. She just read my blog posting, right below and had this to say!
“I’m thinking I need razor wire, electric fence, machine guns..large snarling men…chimes ain’t going to work here.”
Who is this hound Lois?
Now that is a tomato lover. Is that Sally?
No, that is too big to be Sally. Who is this Lois? Howl can you ever keep any tomatos?
Tasty!
More loving the Lois tomato eating hound later! Cat, Chaps and Emma
That is funny Lois! I’ve been lucky. My bassets don’t bother them. But they’re seniors too. And, I didn’t get many tomatoes this year! I’m sooooo jealous! Oh well, there’s always next year.
buster brown tomato stealin’ basset hound!
Nell and Sophie wouldn’t want a tomato unless it had turned into ketchup and came with an order of tater tots!
Good luck protecting your ‘maters Lois! Thanks for sending the pictures to Cat … very cute.
I never had that. Our hounds don’t wonder to our garden. But we had a potato stealing hound. Tee would take them out of the bag and run with them. Crazy girl.
Oh, yes! Harley is quite the tomato thief;) We have a terraced vegetable plot on our hill in the back garden. The first two years we were finding half eaten tomatoes on the vine and caught Harley in the act! Philip built a small fence around it with gates (so we could go in and out) and that did the trick;) I like the chimes idea!
Mary, Harley, Biggs and Leo

I haven’t had any strawberries grow on the vines lately so Beau is sad lol
Our hounds are already leaping into the air to try to pick the new pears off the neighbor’s tree! Silly bassets, trying to get extra treats by living off the land!
Debbie that is so funny! Living off the land! hehehe
