Wow, what a difference a few hours makes for a homeless hound!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and I am not talking about TJ lovers! Here is howl the story goes. Thursday night I received an e-mail from Terri, our Animal Control officer. She said, “Can you help this pretty girl in Gallatin County, KY? Her 5 day hold is up and they are a tight ship down there.”

So, first thing Friday morning I was going to call on her. Can you believe it? We get one hound out the door and another one is knocking. So, I called to check on her. She was on the list but others were ahead of her. The volunteer was fantastic and said that she would be in touch on Monday because she was safe over the weekend and through Monday. This is the picture that really got to me!

Dogs are so amazing. Look at that smile.

So guess what? Last night after closing, the gal receives a phone call from a man looking for a sweet female basset for his family. Even though the kennel was closed she met him and completed the adoption. She got an e-mail last night telling her that she was already the Star of his neighborhood!

Wow, what a difference a few hours makes for a homeless hound!

Oh, he named her Star! Very fitting indeed!

More good news later….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

What a great story. And just when I was in tears over a story on CNN regarding the number of pets being surrendered in Louisana by families who, thanks to the oil spill, have no income. The Louisana SPCA doesn’t have the funding and is doing the best they can to get these pets in foster home. I think BP should throw some of their record quarterly profits at this problem as well.

Lois-sooooooo jealous that you got to meet Frankie!!!!!

Lois – forgot your camera?! Oh my! We need pictures of Frankie. Glad to hear that TJ has landed safely. Amazing how quickly these hounds lives changed for the better.

What a great way to start a Sunday. What a smile! The southern state pets are going to be in trouble cause of that spill. I still do not understand getting rid of your furbabies. You don’t pitch out your two legged kids.

What a stroke of luck! Both for Star and us. Sounds like her family is going to be wonderful.

How exciting Lois! You are so lucky to be in the area to see the hounds we are rescuing. I’m trying to remember…didn’t Frankie have a home to go to or did he go to a foster home?

    Looking forward to pics!
